I am so incredibly proud to introduce my newest children’s book…

This book was written for the little ones who know hospital corridors, appointments, procedures and medical equipment far more than any child should have to.

Created from our own experiences navigating the medical world, my hope is that this book helps children understand that while hospitals can sometimes feel scary, they are also filled with people who are there to help, care for and keep them safe.

My biggest dream is to see The Hospital That Helps in hospitals, waiting rooms, kindergartens and in the hands of families across Australia who might need a little extra reassurance during some of their hardest days. 🤍

Not a bad way to spend my birthday! 🎂🤍

This morning I headed along to the Townsville Chamber of Commerce event at the Incognito Art Show and had such a great morning connecting with our local business community.

We heard from Emma at Master Shredder and Queensland Country Bank, and I was also lucky enough to walk away with this absolutely gorgeous hamper from Baskets of Delight Townsville 🥹✨

Feeling very spoilt, very grateful and incredibly lucky to be part of such a supportive local business community.

A pretty lovely start to 32! 🥂🤍

Who knew a simple walk could include this many laughs? 😂💗

On Friday afternoon I joined the amazing Women’s Society for our community walk, and it was the perfect reminder that connection doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes all it takes is a walk, a chat and a group of incredible women.

At Compassionate Connections Co, community means everything. That’s why I’m so passionate about supporting initiatives that reduce isolation, encourage meaningful friendships and remind women that they don’t have to do life alone.

100 hours of disability advocacy already… and we’re only just over halfway through the year. ❤️🩷

That’s more than 3 hours every week spent advocating at no cost.

These aren’t my participants. These are members of our community who need immediate support, someone to stand beside them, and someone to help them fight for their rights. Many don’t have NDIS funding or access to funded advocacy services.

I don’t do this because I’m paid to. I do it because everyone deserves to be heard, understood, and supported. If I have the knowledge and experience to help someone navigate a difficult situation, then that’s exactly what I’ll do.

Advocacy has never just been my job, it’s my way of giving back to the community that has given so much to me. ❤️🩷

Imagine if every workplace, sporting club and community group had people trained in Mental Health First Aid.

Last night the Women’s Society committee took one small step towards making that vision a reality. Thank you to Healthy Minds NQ for an incredibly valuable evening of learning, connection and practical skills.
