Come with me to TARDISS! ✨ This month’s question: What’s one thing you wish people knew about the NDIS? Tardiss

17/06/2026

We had a laugh filming this reel, but the reality is that what’s happening with the NDIS right now isn’t funny.

Families are stressed. Participants are confused. Supports are being impacted.

Everyone deserves clear information, genuine advocacy, and someone in their corner. That’s exactly why we do what we do. ❤️🩷

📢 Calling all Auslan users and educators!

I’d love to help spread the word. We’re looking for someone who would be interested in running a free beginner Auslan workshop in partnership with Lions and Volunteering North Queensland.

Auslan is such an important tool for inclusion and accessibility in our community. If you know someone who may be interested, please tag them or share this post! 🩷❤️

💭 Things I Wish People Knew About the NDIS

The NDIS can be confusing, overwhelming, and at times incredibly frustrating.

One thing I’ve learnt through supporting participants and families is that so many people are trying to navigate a complex system while also managing everyday life, appointments, therapies, paperwork and everything else that comes with it.

I wish more people knew that it’s okay to ask questions.

I wish more people knew that they have choices.

I wish more people knew that if something doesn’t feel right, they can speak up.

And most importantly, I wish more people knew that they don’t have to do it alone.

Behind every NDIS plan is a person with goals, dreams and challenges that deserve to be understood and respected.

Swipe through to read a few things I wish more people knew about the NDIS 💙what would you add to the list?

Yesterday was one of those moments that reminded me why representation matters.

Thank you to Able Community Support Services for inviting us to the Cowboys game.

Seeing the Townsville All Abilities League Tag players out on the field and seeing International Myasthenia Gravis Awareness Month displayed on the big screen was something I didn’t expect to be so emotional.

For many families living with disability or complex medical conditions, feeling seen can be rare. Yesterday, thousands of people saw disability celebrated, recognised and included.

Thank you to the Cowboys for creating a game day experience that truly embraces everyone. 💙

Disability parent, guardian, carer tired hits different.

It’s remembering appointments while making dinner.
It’s writing emails at midnight.
It’s fighting systems that shouldn’t be this hard.
It’s worrying about your child’s future while trying to enjoy the present.

And somehow, despite being completely exhausted, you keep showing up.

Because that’s what parents, guardians, carers do.

✨ LET’S TALK. ✨
Too often, people make assumptions about disability without ever hearing from the people actually living it.

Today, I want to hand the microphone over to YOU. 🎤💜

What’s one thing about your disability, chronic illness, neurodivergence, or lived experience that you wish people understood?

Maybe it’s:
🌸 That not all disabilities are visible.
🌸 That being “high functioning” doesn’t mean things are easy.
🌸 That accessibility benefits everyone.
🌸 That kindness goes a long way.
Whatever it is, we want to hear it.

👇 Drop your answer in the comments and let’s create a space where people can learn directly from lived experience.

💬 If you’re reading the comments, take a moment to listen, learn, and support each other.

❤️ Save this post.
📲 Share it to your stories.
🗣️ Tag someone who needs to be part of this conversation.

Because every story matters.
Because every voice matters.
Because understanding starts with listening.
