Today is World Autism Day 💙
What does autism mean to us at Mini Minds?
We feel so incredibly privileged to work alongside so many autistic individuals and their families. Every day, we are challenged to rethink, relearn, and reshape the way we support—so we can truly meet each child where they are.
It’s about creating environments where our kids can thrive, feel safe, and be celebrated for exactly who they are. It’s about advocating, educating, and helping others understand that life, school, and play don’t have to look the same for everyone to be meaningful and successful.
It’s about challenging social norms, breaking away from the idea that everyone should fit into the same box, and embracing the beauty of difference.
Most importantly, it’s about recognising and valuing autistic ways of being. Our kids show us new ways to communicate, connect, regulate, play, and experience the world. They remind us that there is no one “right” way to learn or interact—only different ways. We are constantly learning to listen more deeply, to follow their lead, and to honour their strengths, preferences, and autonomy.
So today, and every day—thank you. Thank you for trusting us, for sharing your journeys with us, and for helping us see the world through a different lens.
