This Refugee Week, Able Haven proudly joins communities across Australia in celebrating the strength, resilience, and contributions of refugees.

Behind every refugee is a story of courage, hope, resilience, and determination. These stories have helped shape our communities, enrich our culture, and remind us of the power of belonging and inclusion.

As we reflect on this year's theme, "A Million Stories," we acknowledge the journeys of those who have rebuilt their lives, overcome challenges, and continue to make valuable contributions to Australian society. Refugee Week 2026 celebrates the one million refugees welcomed by Australia since World War II and the million stories behind that milestone.

At Able Haven, we believe that every person deserves the opportunity to feel safe, valued, included, and empowered to thrive.

Today, some of our participants, carers, support workers, and team members are looking forward to attending the 2026 Filipino Festival at Strand Park.

Events like these are a wonderful opportunity to celebrate culture, connect with the community, enjoy great food and entertainment, and create meaningful social experiences.

At Able Haven, we believe that community participation plays an important role in building confidence, friendships, inclusion, and a sense of belonging.
