Good morning Reclaim Life events followers! A gorgeous sunny spring day here, I hope the sun is shining wherever you are 😊

2 September workshops:

This Friday 4th September, 7pm, $25
Ancestral healing

Sometimes the past, and our families, culture and history, can tie us to habits, beliefs and struggles that trouble us today. If you notice a heavy weight anchoring you to something unhelpful or that saboutages living your best life in Now, this could originate in historical issues, experiences or beliefs deep in your family tree's veins.

In this workshop we explore ancestry and family heaviness that affects you today. We will use ritual to free up the past, so you can move forward more attuned to your own voice.

Enjoy the reflection and discussion topics, meditation, fire releasing and self-connection activities this Friday!

Celtic Festival:
Friday 18th September, 7pm, $25
Autumn Equinox workshop

One of my favourite events of the year!

Do you have new dreams, desires and projects growing inside your heart? Are you wondering how to make the most of this active light, lively half of the year? What lies just beneath the surface of your awareness longing to blossom in the new light of spring?

In this session you will have opportunity to listen to the leadership of your heart and soul. We will surrender to the deep guidance and direction of your inner voice and develop ideas towards loving, compassionate actions.

Join us for more meditation, art activities, meaningful discussions, and togetherness.

Please let me know if you can join us and I'll have a delicious supper waiting for you at the end of each workshop, text Cathy on: 0455442329

Catch yourself every time your mind is tracking over other people's behaviour, words and attitudes. There are so many BETTER topics for you to think about, especially compared to thinking about people who don't care about you. Select focus points that are uplifting to you, and that charge up your values, passions and life-purpose. And if this is difficult for you at the moment, refocus onto what you can be grateful for. Redirect your mind to the aspects of your life and environment, that which could benefit from your energy.

I extend a friendly invitation to come along for tonight's workshop.

Friday 28th August, 7pm, only $25!

Topic: Boundaries.

In our social world, if we don't have skills, confidence and self-worth with boundaries, we will tend to get drained by others, and feel frustrated, angry, or confused. Boundaries are part of safe, healthy relationships and interactions. Boundaries help us understand our Self better and to have others respond to our desires, needs, and well-being in positive ways.

This session includes a deep meditation, an art activity and discussions. We will look at some badics of boundaries and practice skills. We will explore some barriers and past experiences with boundaries.

Please let me know if you are coming for my catering plans.

Text or phone 0455442329 before 4pm 🙂

Do you or the person you care for qualify for a half-priced taxi card?

The Half Priced Taxi Card program is open to older adults, people with disability, and others who have significant mobility or accessibility needs, specifically those whose severe disability prevents them from using public transport safely and independently, or whose permanent disability is unlikely to improve with treatment.

If you qualify, you can apply for the MPTP Card (Multi purpose taxi program) which entitles members to 50 % off the standard fare (covering up to $60 per trip). This doesn't include road tolls or airport fees. (These costs are paid by the passenger).

Find out more on the Carers Victoria Benefits and Concessions web page, where we list the many ways you, or the person you care for, can save money. https://www.carersvictoria.org.au/benefits/half-priced-taxi-card/

Discoveries of self-worth

There’s a little girl growing up in a house with her parents, older brother, and two younger siblings. She’s always drawing pictures and messages for her parents about how much she loves them. This love is “bigger than the whole, wide world” and the pictures have lots of “XOXO’s.” Her parents smile. She feels warm and safe inside. She tries hard at school to get 100% on tests. She wins certificates for art, prizes for colouring-in, and ribbons for running fast. Her parents nod and approve. They boast to others. It’s the only time she feels important. She hungers for these rare moments, and “Special-from-others” becomes the oxygen for her existence. Gradually, she is shaped by this – the nods, smiles, approval – the permission to feel good about herself. She learns that the source of worth is outside herself.

This is the external nature of worth. It’s one of the most significant wounds we need to explore on our trauma healing journeys. We need to wake up to this lie. The source of self-worth comes from WITHIN. Consider - if you notice a cat lounging in the sunshine, or watch a butterfly floating through the daisies, or enjoy rose buds unfurling pink crowns to the sky, you get living examples of “just being.” There are no further requirements.

You really, truly ARE “enough” just being your Self.

Self-worth is NOT about performance, productivity, or comparisons and competitions with others. Self-worth is not an external quest. The Holy Grail is,’t lost somewhere, away, far away, over distant mountains with treacherous paths, where we must win tokens to pass through forbidden gateways. However, if we’ve experienced trauma in our early years, now as adults, self-worth might feel exactly like that; elusive, external, and something we must earn.

Living from external self-worth can show up as feelings of abandonment, being invisible, unappreciated, or not acknowledged, fearing that you must prove something or you’ll miss out, worrying you’ve displeased others, and needing validation.

Now is the time to claim – or reclaim – your innate self-worth.

Acknowledge to yourself when inner cravings swell up for external validation. Say to yourself - “Something inside me feels small and insignificant,” and “I hear that need for feeling important.” The feelings come from that young child we once were, like in the story above, and it’s a compassionate practice to let her feel heard and noticed.

But you are not a little, vulnerable child now. You have far more power, choice, and ability to act for your own interests than a small child. Remind yourself that you did need external help when you were a child, but NOW you are not a child.

Re-orient yourself in NOW by breathing and noticing that sensation of air coming into and leaving your adult body. Lay a hand on your heartspace and breathe. Claim your birthright to be worthy just for who you are. Remind yourself of your inner qualities and capabilities and let yourself appreciate and enjoy these. If you’re a bit unsure of those, listen to some meditation or shamanic drumming music and ask your inner Self to show you more of who you are. This isn’t about that you “have to give it to yourself because no one else will” – it’s about realising the truth that was always there – that you were born worthy with your own constellation of specialness inside waiting to become your life.

Here are some helpful things you can tell your Self and feel it into your body:

My life belongs to myself.
I can develop more self-connection and I approve of myself.
I please myself.
I can listen keenly, compassionately inside myself.
I can respond to myself in empowering ways.
I belong to the Universe.
I am worthy just because I exist.
Now that I’m an adult, I get to nourish and savour my existence.
I can thrive.

Remember, first you will notice your young child feeling unworthy or you might catch yourself in “performing-for-worth” type social contracts with others. Secondly you re-orient into Now by acknowledging now you have adult power to like yourself, you accept and value your qualities, and you pursue your natural strengths and interests.

The finishing step is to take action that expresses your self-worth to yourself. Probably something you naturally enjoy or feel talented in, will help with this. Something relating to your values and aligning to your dreams. Singing, dancing, creative activities such as writing a poem or painting, put some flowers in a vase, collect some “found items” that you’re attracted to from nature and make a display, give yourself a massage or have a bath and care for your skin, a mindful walk where you appreciate your body, make a vision board collage of your dreams. Whatever helps you to reconnect with your adult Self and the truth of who you are – it doesn’t even have to be a grand, big display – just something that works to feel the self-connected feeling.

A friendly reminder for my next workshop!

Friday 7th August, 7pm, $25

Celebrate the Spring Awakening of Imbolc

In this earliest spring season, changes for new life and growth are happening, deep in the cool, dark soil, embedded within tough tree branches, and protected within strong seed cases. A gentle shift from winter's still depths towards inspired light, warmth and action.

This too, is what WE can embrace.

This workshop is dedicated to your journey of healing, becoming, growing and discovering. We will celebrate our journeys with coming out of winter and shifting towards inspired intentions for spring.

We will enjoy activities of meditation, creativity, togetherness and fire rituals. You will go home from this event feeling gratitude and energised. We'll celebrate the past winter and explore new glimmerings of hopes, dreams and desires that your deep Self longs for.

Just let me know you're coming for my planning needs.
