Once upon a garden: A snail mail club of stories, seeds and recipes for little people.
We tested this out last year with some families and the mailing part was a hit. I tried online only and although people bought it, it’s the hands on aspect that aligns best with our values and I am nervous and excited to bring this to fruition.

Thank you for the fullest of terms. From Winter to Spring. We have watched the trees fill with leaves and fruit. Watched plants grow before our eyes. Try new flavours and foods. Learn new songs. Make friends, children and parents. Explore the depths of mud and the heights of branches. Worms and compost. Cardboard crafts and wool. Patience and belief in long term projects.
Our little Golden Grove has held a lot of little hands and feet this term. Tears and laughter, pain and joy. Thank you for believing in the power of food and nature in your darlings’ lives. Thank you for believing in community.

2 steps forward, 1 back. Now we have to cut the wood down a bit. Chickanees. We are close.
Our garden club kiddos have been busy making this mud cob chicken coop for two terms now. Designing, preparing and making the cob. They have been part of the measuring of the door and testing it, understanding time. And just so much more.
Some bits though I have to do by myself as I well, I don’t really know what I am doing!🤣
Excited to get the chickens back soon and also for the children to see that small increment steps , lead to something wonderful. Eventually!

In a few weeks we are having an open morning The Golden Grove Children’s Garden .
Come and check the garden out, have a play, perhaps help us with the mud cob chicken coop (we need to finish it!!!) or pull a few weeds.
This is not our regular program, just an opportunity to pop in. And children are most welcome. This is not a paid morning and no tickets are necessary.
I will be there to answer any questions but I will also be a bit messy trying to finish the coop 🐓 🤣
