As we say goodbye to July, we're reflecting on a month filled with laughter, friendship, adventure and so many special moments shared together.

Our residents embraced the festive spirit with a joyful Christmas in July celebration, complete with delicious food, music and wonderful company. 🎄❤️

The fun continued throughout the month with our popular weekly Mini Golf Competition, energetic Chair Zumba, friendly games of Indoor Bowls, Dominoes, Ten Pin Bowling, creative Painting sessions, and plenty of teamwork tackling our ever-growing Jigsaw Puzzle.

Our bus outings were another highlight, with residents enjoying the beautiful winter countryside while spotting kangaroos at Wyee and visiting the Pioneer Dairy, where we delighted in seeing the cows and soaking up the peaceful rural scenery. 🦘🐄

Although winter has certainly brought some chilly mornings, we've been incredibly fortunate to enjoy an abundance of beautiful sunny days, making it the perfect time to get out, explore and create more wonderful memories together.

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing residents, families, and staff for making every day so special. We can't wait to see what adventures August has in store!

A friendly reminder about the upcoming Australia-wide test of the new AusAlert emergency warning system.

On Monday, 27 July, compatible mobile devices across Australia will receive a test emergency alert. This is a planned national test designed to help ensure the system works effectively when it is needed in a real emergency.

When the test alert is received, your mobile device may vibrate, play a loud siren-like tone and display a message clearly identifying the alert as a test. While the sound may be unexpected, there is no cause for concern.

The test alert is scheduled for:
2.00 pm (AEST) in Queensland and New South Wales
1.30 pm (ACST) in South Australia

You do not need to do anything when you receive this test alert.

AusAlert will become Australia's new emergency warning system and, in a real emergency, will be used to share important information about events such as bushfires, floods and other significant incidents.

If you have any questions or concerns about the test, please speak with the Village Office or visit https://www.ausalert.gov.au/alerts-explained/national-test for more information.

🏡☕ A Step Back in Time at Alison Homestead ☕🏡

What a wonderful morning our Glengara residents enjoyed on their bus trip this week to Alison Homestead, home of the Wyong District Museum & Historical Society.

We were warmly welcomed with a delicious Devonshire morning tea before sitting down to hear the fascinating history of the homestead and the story behind "Wyong Place." It was a wonderful reminder of the rich heritage right here on the Central Coast.

After morning tea, residents took a stroll through the beautifully preserved rooms, discovering treasures from years gone by. From household items and old photographs to vintage furnishings, each room sparked conversations, smiles and treasured memories of days past.

There's something truly special about places that connect us with our history and bring back so many fond memories.

If you're looking for a lovely outing on the Central Coast, Alison Homestead is well worth a visit. It comes highly recommended by all of us at Glengara! ❤️

🌿✨ June Highlights at Glengara Care Apartments ✨🌿
What a wonderful and jam-packed month we’ve had! 💛 Our residents have been busy enjoying new experiences, staying active, getting creative and sharing plenty of smiles along the way.
🚌 Our bus adventures took us to some beautiful local spots including Crackneck Lookout, Canton Beach Reserve and Toukley Art Gallery, creating memories, enjoying the scenery, and spending time together.
💃 We’ve been moving and grooving with Chair Zumba with Fiona and building strength and confidence with Strength & Conditioning sessions with Miriam. Keeping active has never been so much fun!
🎨 Creativity has been flowing with our hands-on activities, exploring the calming sounds of Tibetan singing bowls, using play dough to support dexterity and fine motor skills, and getting artistic with canvas, paintbrushes, and a relaxing afternoon tea.
☕ Our café catch-ups have been filled with laughter, stories and connection, while our wonderful chef continues to delight us with his delicious culinary creations. 🍰👨‍🍳
June has truly been a month full of friendship, fun, movement and meaningful moments. We’re so proud of the wonderful community we continue to build together at Glengara Care Apartments. 💚✨

☕ Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea 💙

What a wonderful morning of laughter, and generosity as our amazing staff and residents came together in support of Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.

Our residents and staff enjoyed a beautiful morning filled with delicious cupcakes, slices, tea, and coffee, along with raffles and fundraising activities all while sharing plenty of smiles and special moments together 🧁✨

Thanks to everyone’s kindness and support, Glengara Care Apartments proudly raised over $700 for the Cancer Council a fantastic achievement for such an important cause close to our hearts.

A huge thank you to our wonderful staff who decorated, organised, and helped bring this event together. Your teamwork, creativity, and dedication made the morning truly special.

It was heartwarming to see our community come together, enjoy each other’s company, and make a difference. 💙

Another activity worth mentioning, was baking with Tori - and what a hit !
Everyone enjoyed watching, chatting, and socialising, with a couple of residents happily getting hands-on in the kitchen. Together we baked lemon and coconut slice, Scotch Finger caramel slice, and delicious scones served with jam and freshly whipped cream prepared by our chef, Adam.
The activity prompted lots of reminiscing, with residents sharing stories about the baking they used to enjoy over the years.
Of course, the best part was enjoying the delicious treats afterwards for morning and afternoon tea!
