RSV is a highly contagious, common virus causing respiratory infections, ranging from mild cold-like symptoms to severe pneumonia or bronchiolitis, particularly in infants under 12 months and older adults. The RSV vaccine is now free for all adults over the age of 75 and it is recommended to get the vaccine before the winter season.

The vaccine is available for adults under the age of 75 but it is not covered by NIP and it does incur a fee.
