Fertility challenges affect many individuals and couples, with the World Health Organisation estimating that around 1 in 6 people globally experience infertility during their lifetime.

A range of factors may influence fertility, including age, lifestyle, underlying health conditions and reproductive health factors affecting both men and women.

For women, conditions such as endometriosis, Polymetabolic O***y Syndrome (PMOS) and other reproductive health concerns may affect fertility. For men, factors including s***m health, hormone levels and general health may also play a role.

Lifestyle factors such as maintaining a healthy weight, regular physical activity, adequate sleep, managing stress and avoiding smoking can support overall reproductive health.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, fertility is viewed within the broader context of a person's overall health and wellbeing. Chinese Medicine practitioners consider factors such as sleep, stress, energy levels, lifestyle and general health when developing an individualised approach to care.

Some people choose to incorporate acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine as complementary approaches alongside conventional fertility care and medical treatment.

Fertility concerns should always be appropriately assessed by a healthcare professional. Speaking with a registered AACMA practitioner may help you explore safe, evidence informed options to support your health and wellbeing during your fertility journey.

School Holiday Update

It’s time for a little pause.

Over the school holidays I’ll be taking a short break to spend some quality time with my kiddos, recharge, and enjoy some much needed rest.

During this time I’ll be completely offline, so I won’t be checking emails, messages or doing any admin. Thank you for your patience while I take this time to reset.

The one exception!

I’ll still be running my Lilydale Community Acupuncture Clinic on Saturday 18 July, from 11.00 am to 2.30 pm.

If you need a treatment while I’m away from the private clinic, you’re always very welcome to come along. Community Acupuncture is a relaxed and affordable way to receive treatment for just $65, with private health rebates available where applicable.

As always, online bookings remain open 24/7, so you can book your next appointment anytime that suits you.

I’ll be back in the private clinic from Tuesday 28 July, refreshed and looking forward to helping you feel your best.

Thank you for supporting my small business and allowing me the opportunity to spend this special time with my family. It truly means the world to us.

Have a wonderful school holiday break, and I’ll see you soon.

“A great physician treats the person, not just the disease.” – Sun Si Miao

One of the things I value most about Chinese Medicine is its person-centred approach.

Rather than focusing only on a diagnosis or symptom, treatment considers the bigger picture, including sleep, stress, digestion, energy, lifestyle and overall wellbeing.

No two people are exactly the same, and care is tailored to the individual and their health goals.

At Woodlands Acupuncture + Herbal Health, treatment plans are designed to support your wellbeing through a traditional medicine approach that can sit alongside other healthcare providers.

3 Signs Your Nervous System Might Be Overloaded

Stress doesn’t always look like overwhelm.

Sometimes it feels like:

💭 A busy mind that won’t switch off
🌿 Carrying tension through your body
🌙 Sleep that feels lighter or less restorative

Through a Chinese medicine lens, wellbeing is about looking at the whole picture. Mind, body, sleep, emotions and how we move through daily life.

Our bodies are often communicating with us long before we slow down enough to listen.

Which sign feels most familiar to you lately? 🤍
