Breathing is one of the most overlooked pieces of posture and movement.

It directly affects how your body stabilises and transfers load.

This is where everything starts to connect.

Most people are told to “strengthen their core.”

But if your rib cage and pelvis aren’t working together… your core can’t function properly.

This is where things start to make more sense.

A client asked me the other day…
“Why does my body feel so unstable… even though I’m trying to strengthen it?”

And it’s such a good question.

Because so many people are told to:
- strengthen their core
- improve their posture
- engage certain muscles

But no one really explains how the body actually works together.

See, your body doesn’t stabilise through strength alone. 👉 It stabilises through coordination.

And one of the most important relationships in that system is between your rib cage and pelvis!

When they’re working together, your body feels supported and efficient.

When they’re not… Everything starts to compensate
👉muscles and fascia tighten,
👉strains and pains happen and
👉injuries occur

I don’t want that for you.

Once you understand how this system works, things start to make a lot more sense and it becomes easier to work out how to integrate things. And then… You’ll begin to notice real change.

Later this week, in my new video, I’ll discuss this connection in more detail

Have you ever felt like your body just doesn’t feel right… no matter what you do?

You stretch… you strengthen… you try to fix your posture…But nothing really sticks.

One of the biggest reasons I see for this in clinic is actually something most people aren’t even aware of.

Your pelvis.

It’s the foundation of your body.

And when it’s not stable or moving well, everything above it has to compensate.

That’s when you start to see:
👉recurring tightness
👉posture that won’t hold
👉pain that shifts or keeps coming back

It’s not that your body is broken.

It’s that it’s adapting.

I’ve just shared a new video breaking this down simply, but in a way that actually helps it make sense.

Most posture advice starts in the wrong place.

You’ve probably been told to sit up straight, pull your shoulders back, or engage your core…

But posture doesn’t start there. It starts at your pelvis!

When your base isn’t positioned or moving well, your body adapts above it.

That’s why posture feels forced, or doesn’t last, or it even causes discomfort and fatigue

If you feel like you’re doing everything “right”… but your body still feels tight, off, or stuck?
This might be why.

It’s not just about stretching or strengthening.

It’s about understanding where your body is compensating from.

Your pelvis is the foundation of your movement, posture, and stability.

And when it’s not functioning well, everything else adapts around it.

This is where things start to make more sense.

I was thinking about this over the weekend…

About how many people are doing all the “right” things for their body - stretching, strengthening, trying to improve their posture…

And yet, they still feel tight, uncomfortable, or like nothing is really changing.
It’s frustrating. And honestly, it can be confusing. Because it makes you question is there is simething seriously wrong, or whether you’re doing something wrong.

But more often than not… you’re not.

You’re just starting in the wrong place.

One of the most overlooked areas when it comes to movement and posture... and things that can drive pain in the body - is the pelvis.

It’s the foundation your body builds on.

And when it’s not functioning well.
Whether that’s due to:
📍tilt,
📍asymmetry, or
📍lack of co-ordination &/or control
➡️ your body adapts around it.

This can lead to:
👉ongoing tightness
👉recurring discomfort
👉posture that feels forced or tiring to maintain
👉And even pain that doesn’t feel associated with the pelvis at all

And over time, those patterns become your “normal.”

And I don’t want that for you! Because when you start to understand how your body is actually working, and what it’s compensating for. You can begin to support it in a way that creates real change.

Later this week, I’ll be sharing a video that breaks this down clearly and simply.
So you can start to see your body differently… and understand where things may not be working as well as they could.

Sarah and I were talking about this recently…

About how often we see women experiencing symptoms that don’t seem to connect.

Things like pelvic discomfort…bloating… a sense of heaviness… or irritation in the bladder or bowel.

And more often than not, they’ve been treated as completely separate issues.

Different explanations; Different approaches; Different areas of focus.

But when you step back and look at the body as a whole… It doesn’t actually work that way.

Because your pelvis isn’t just a structural area. It’s a space where:
👉 organs sit and function
👉 circulation and lymphatics move (or stagnate)
👉 and your nervous system interacts with surrounding tissues

And when that environment isn’t working well, it can influence how your body feels in ways that don’t always seem obvious.
Here are a few things most people aren’t told:
1. Pelvic pain is more common than people realise, and rarely comes from just one source - Which is why focusing on just one area doesn’t always resolve it.
2. It’s not always about weakness. Tension and imbalance and co-ordination are usually all involved
3. Your pelvic health is influenced by how your whole body is working together - your breath, movement, how load is transferred

When these pieces start to come together… things begin to make a lot more sense. And you no longer have to suffer silently

𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 “F𝗶𝘅𝗶𝗻𝗴”, 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 ☺️
Hi Friend,

Just sitting quietly this evening with a warm cup of tea, noticing how different the body feels when we finally slow down. Even just for a moment.

It got me thinking, and I wanted to share this with you.
I hope feels supportive.

This is important because if we think healing is only about “fixing” something quickly, it can feel discouraging when things take time.

You might notice:
• feeling frustrated, or like you should be improving faster
• your body reacts more strongly when you’re tired
• flare-ups happen when life gets busy
• trying more… but not feeling better
Which can look like progress ➡️ then setbacks ➡️ then progress again.
And over time, it can feel like your body is unpredictable.

So here’s what I want to share with you today:
1. We live in a world that moves fast.
One that constantly asks us to do more, be more, achieve more. Over time, it can feel like slowing down means falling behind or that rest must be earned. Slowing down can even begin to feel shameful.

2. Healing isn’t about doing more
It’s about supporting your body in the right way, the way it needs.

3. It’s about building capacity
Helping your body handle stress and return to calm more easily.
One of the biggest shifts I see in people is when they stop asking: “How do I get rid of this?”
And start asking: “How do I help my body cope better?”

4. Progress often looks quieter than we expect
Small, consistent shifts matter most. Not big changes, but gentle, repeated support.
Sometimes healing more looks like:
“I bounce back faster now.”
“I don’t hold as much tension.”
“I notice stress earlier.”
“I’m sleeping more deeply.” Or simply,
“My body feels a little softer than it used to.”

5. Regulation helps the body feel safer
When the nervous system feels supported, the body often becomes less reactive over time.
* Muscles don’t brace as fast.
* Breathing becomes easier.
* The body starts to settle more quickly.

This can impact your pain sensitivity, inflammation, recovery, sleep, and muscle tension.
And it is why this work goes much deeper than “just relaxing”.

Sometimes, the body needs support to go a little deeper. So it feels safe enough to truly let go.

We’re not just chasing relief, we’re building a body that can cope. And this changes everything.
A body that:
• recovers more easily
• holds less tension
• feels safer
• and has more capacity for life
The truth is that choosing to be present and engaged in your world takes moving at a different pace: softer, slower, and more sustainable.

And when we slow things down and support the body gently, change often starts to feel more sustainable and kinder. And often last longer.

Listen, I hope this was insightful for you 🙂

✨ If that feels like where you are, I’ll be sharing a short video later this week
to walk you through this a little more.
