Please note: These consultations are general in nature and are not an individual OT assessment. As Kristy has not met or assessed your child, individual clinical recommendations cannot be provided. We can, however, help you understand what to look for, what you can support at home, and whether further OT assessment may be helpful.

💙 Meet the Team Monday 💙

This week, we're introducing the incredible Brodie!

Brodie is the kind and friendly face who greets you at reception when you visit the clinic, and often the helpful voice on the other end of the phone. 💙

And did you know... she's also studying to become an Occupational Therapist! 🙌 So while she's busy keeping things running at reception, she's also working towards joining the OT profession herself.

We're so lucky to have Brodie on the EK team. Make sure you say hi next time you're in the clinic! 👋

Early intervention is changing! Your experience matters. 💙

Changes to the NDIS and the introduction of Thriving Kids may affect how children with developmental differences, delays, concerns and disabilities access early intervention and allied health supports.

The Early Intervention Impact Tracker, an initiative of the NSW Allied Health Provider Group (NAHPG), is giving families and carers a way to share what these changes are actually meaning for their child and family.

You might want to share about:
• changes to funding or supports
• difficulty accessing therapy or longer waits
• losing a trusted therapist
• increased costs
• changes to your child’s wellbeing or participation
• impacts on your family
• uncertainty about what happens next
• or anything else affecting your child or family.

You can write a little or a lot, use dot points, and share in your own words. Your story doesn't need to be polished or perfect - just share what matters to you.

These real-world experiences can help build evidence to advocate for children to access the early supports they need.

This week, we're introducing Occupational Therapist, Jazmin!

If your child is lucky enough to have Jaz as their OT, you'll know she brings endless positive energy, plenty of laughs, and a genuine passion for helping children thrive. Her enthusiasm is contagious, and she has a wonderful way of making children (and their grown-ups!) feel comfortable, confident and supported.

Over the next few months, we'll be sharing practical tips, simple activities and expert advice to help you support your child's transition to school.

We'll cover things like:

✔ Social skills
✔ Lunchboxes, uniforms and routines
✔ When it might be helpful to speak with an OT

Occupational Therapy looks a little different here.

Sometimes you'll find us doing star jumps, building obstacle courses, climbing, creating, playing games or celebrating a tiny win that took weeks of courage.

It might look like fun (because it is!), but every activity has a purpose. We're building confidence, motor skills, emotional regulation, problem-solving, independence, social connection and participation in everyday life.

We believe children learn best when they feel safe, connected and engaged. That's why we do things differently.

Because the goal isn't just to teach a skill.

It's to help every child believe they're braver than they think, stronger than they know, and capable of more than they ever imagined. 💛

You can't pour from an empty cup. 💛

Looking after ourselves and each other is something we genuinely value. A regular BBQ lunch gives us the chance to step away from the busy day, share a meal, have a laugh, and reconnect as a team.

It doesn't have to be complicated. Sometimes the simplest moments are the ones that make the biggest difference.

When we feel supported and connected, we're better able to show up for the children and families we work alongside every day.
