If you have both cataracts and glaucoma, you may be able to address both conditions in a single procedure.

During cataract surgery, your surgeon can sometimes perform a minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) at the same time. This can help lower eye pressure and may reduce your reliance on glaucoma drops.

👋 Meet Dr Esra Sanli, one of our expert ophthalmic surgeons.

👩‍⚕️ Dr Esra Sanli
BMSc, MBBS (Hons), MMed, FRANZCO

Dr Sanli specialises in:

• Cataract surgery
• Pterygium surgery
• Blepharoplasty
• Ptosis surgery
• Periocular skin cancer surgery
• The management of a wide range of eyelid conditions

After qualifying as an ophthalmic surgeon in Sydney she undertook specialised oculoplastic fellowship training in Cheltenham, England. Did you know refractive surgery isn’t recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding!

During this time, hormonal changes can temporarily affect your vision and eye measurements — which means your results may not be as accurate or stable long-term.

Some laser procedures may also involve medications such as Mitomycin-C, which are not considered safe during pregnancy.

For this reason, we recommend waiting until you are at least 4 months post-breastfeeding before booking your suitability assessment with Precision Vision 👁️✨

This week we're introducing Kiara - one of our incredible Ophthalmic Technicians, Receptionists, and all-round superstars!

🎉 10 years at Gold Coast & Tweed Eye Doctors
Kiara has been a valued part of our team for the past decade, bringing her experience, warmth, and versatility to every part of the practice. Before joining GCTED, she worked in vet nursing, and these days she's known for helping wherever she's needed - because no two days are ever the same!

🏖️ Outside of work, you'll find Kiara enjoying the beach, camping adventures, and spending time with her pets: Huxley, Hank, Maggie, and Tina.

👑Kings Birthday Public Holiday – Tweed Clinic Closure 👑

Our Tweed Heads clinic will be closed on Monday 8 June for the Kings Birthday public holiday (NSW only).

Our Robina clinic will remain open as usual.

Tweed will reopen on Tuesday 9 June at 8:00am.
