OZEMPIC, MOUNJARO, WEGOVY - WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

GLP-1 medications can be a helpful tool for weight management and type 2 diabetes, but they’re most effective when paired with good nutrition and regular exercise.

Maintaining muscle mass and staying active can help support better long-term results.

If you’re taking a GLP-1 medication, speak to your GP about whether seeing an Accredited Exercise Physiologist or Dietitian could benefit you.

Osteoporosis is often called the “silent disease” because many people don’t realise their bones are weakening until a fracture occurs.

The recent 7 News Spotlight episode highlighted the importance of bone health at all ages and how resistance training helps build and maintain strong bones, improve balance, and reduce fracture risk.

Risk factors for low bone density include ageing/menopause, low physical activity, poor calcium or vitamin D intake, smoking or excess alcohol, family history, and long-term steroid use.

A Bone Density (DEXA) scan can help identify osteopenia or osteoporosis early.

As an Exercise Physiologist, I help people use safe, evidence-based exercise to support bone strength, prevent decline, and manage osteoporosis.

Most people don’t realise they’re losing strength, balance or mobility until everyday tasks start feeling harder than they should. 👀

Getting up off the floor, climbing stairs, carrying groceries or balancing on one leg are all signs of functional fitness — and they matter more than how much you can lift in the gym.

If some of these are becoming harder, it doesn’t mean you’re “getting old” — it means your body may need the right support and training.

At Northern Health Exercise Physiology, we help everyday people move better, feel stronger and improve long-term health through personalised exercise plans 💪
