A little reminder that Reset is on tomorrow at 4pm at Melissa's new studio, Thenook.au in Ulladulla.

Reset is a luxurious 90-minute experience combining Restorative Yoga and Daring to Rest® Deep Rest Yoga Nidra Meditation.
Restorative yoga is an effortless, deeply restful practice designed to regulate the nervous system. Using blankets, bolsters, cushions and other props, each posture is fully supported, allowing the body to release unnecessary tension and move from the stress response into a state of rest and repair.

We then finish with an extended Daring to Rest® Deep Rest Yoga Nidra Meditation—a guided meditation practised lying down that invites the body into profound rest while the mind remains awake. It's an opportunity to experience a level of rest that's difficult to access in our busy everyday lives.

No yoga experience is needed. You don't need to be flexible, fit or a certain age. This class is for everybody.

Start your week rested rather than rushed.

Sunday | 4.00–5.30pm
Limited to 8 people.

Did you know we have freshly ground Australian peanut butter?

Our peanuts are from the only organic peanut farm in Australia in Kingaroy (the peanut capital of Australia).

Bring your own jar or use one of ours.

If it’s your first time, ask one of our team to give you a hand.

100% peanuts and nothing else.

Spread on your favourite crackers or sourdough with some of our raw Bliss honey.😋

You asked. They listened. Best of the Bone® has finally released a Chicken Bone Broth Concentrate.

So why choose chicken over beef?

While both are rich in collagen, they each have their own strengths. Chicken bone broth is naturally higher in Type II collagen, making it particularly beneficial for joints, cartilage and tendons. It’s also lighter and often easier to digest, making it a great choice during illness, recovery or when your gut needs a little extra care.

Beef bone broth is higher in Types I and III collagen, making it ideal for supporting skin, hair, nails, gut health and overall collagen intake.

We love having both on hand and alternating between them.

Add 1 teaspoon to a cup of hot water for a nourishing mug of broth, enjoy it as a coffee alternative, or stir it into soups, curries, sauces, casseroles or anything you’d usually add stock to.

The new Original and Organic Turmeric & Ginger Chicken Bone Broth Concentrates have just landed in store.

Welcome to The Nook.

Just a few weeks ago, this was a stark white dance studio with wall-to-wall mirrors. The first time I walked in, it reminded me of a hospital room.

As a doula, I’ve walked into countless hospital rooms over the years, and one of the first things I do is close the door, pull the blinds, dim the lights, put on calming music and diffuse beautiful essential oils. Every one of those decisions is intentional because I know our environment matters.

Our senses are constantly taking in information from the world around us. What we see, hear, smell, touch and feel all send messages to our nervous system.

Birth has taught me that before a woman can truly let go, she first needs to feel safe.

The same is true long after birth.

When we feel safe, we begin to shift out of fight or flight and into our parasympathetic nervous system. Our breathing slows, our muscles soften and we can finally rest.

As I started creating The Nook, I kept coming back to that.

When I first walked into this space, I didn’t see a stark white dance studio. I saw a womb. A cave. A cocoon. A place that shut out the outside world. A place where women could feel held, supported and safe enough to let go.

That’s why the lighting is intentionally dim. The mirrors are gone. The colours are warm and grounding. The music is calming. The scent is subtle. The blankets, bolsters and eye pillows are there to fully support your body. Every decision was made to reduce stimulation rather than add to it, creating a space where your nervous system has the opportunity to settle.

Because before we can move well, breathe deeply or truly rest, we first need to feel safe.

I hope that’s what you feel the moment you walk through the door.

Welcome to The Nook.

Peanut butter has copped a bit of a bad wrap over the years.

The truth is, peanut butter can be one of the most nourishing foods you eat… if you choose the right one.

Turn the jar around and read the ingredients. It should really just be peanuts. Many supermarket brands contain added vegetable oils, sugar, salt and stabilisers that simply aren’t needed.

We choose to use the only Australian-grown organic peanuts available. Organic peanuts are grown without synthetic pesticides and herbicides, and we mill them fresh in-store, so you can take home exactly as much as you need.

And don’t be afraid of the healthy fats. Adding peanut butter to your toast or crackers helps slow the release of carbohydrates into your bloodstream, keeping you fuller for longer and helping to avoid those energy highs and lows.

Some of our favourite ways to enjoy it:
1. On fresh Lagom Bakery Sourdough Sourdough or gluten-free bread from nonie's or GFPrecinct
2. Spread on EAT TO LIVE - Healthy Bread Alternatives Buckwheat Crackers.
3. With sliced banana, raw honey and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
4 Stuffed into Medjool dates for the perfect sweet snack.
5. Stirred through porridge or blended into a smoothie.
6. Or, straight off the spoon!

Bring your own jar (or use one of ours), mill it fresh, and only pay for what you take home.

✨ The Whole Woman Retreat is officially FULL. ✨

Nine women have said yes to rest.

Yes to stepping away from the mental load for a while.
Yes to slowing down.
Yes to being nourished, cared for and looked after.
Yes to deep rest, connection and remembering what it feels like to simply be.

In a world that celebrates doing more, these women have chosen something different.

They’ve chosen rest.

Thank you to every woman who trusted me with your weekend away. I can’t wait to welcome you all in just 3 weeks.

If you missed out this time, don’t worry—I’ll be opening expressions of interest for the next retreat soon.

What’s for dinner? Do we have enough milk? I should defrost something. Have I had enough protein today? What will everyone eat for breakfast? Is there enough in the fridge for lunches tomorrow?

It’s not just the cooking. It’s the planning, shopping, remembering, preparing and cleaning up afterwards. It’s the constant mental load of making sure everyone is fed, including yourself.

I don’t think we realise just how much headspace it takes until someone else does it for us.

One of the things people comment on most after my retreats is the food. People always tell me how much they loved the meals, but I don’t think it’s just because my husband Justin is a great cook. I think it’s because, for one whole weekend, they don’t have to think about food at all.

Breakfast is ready after your morning walk. Lunch is waiting after yoga. Afternoon tea is after your massage. Dinner is served while you enjoy the company of other women. When you’ve finished eating, Justin else clears the table, washes the dishes and starts thinking about the next meal.

When I talk about rest, this is part of what I mean. It’s having a break from the constant mental checklist that’s running in the background every day.

It’s being looked after for a change.

Our Whole Woman Retreat is just over three weeks away and we have one queen bed remaining. If a weekend of nourishing food, deep rest and letting someone else do the thinking sounds exactly what you need right now, I’d love you to join us.
