We’re all chatting about ticks on the South Coast, and are doing our best to fend them off when we head outside.

If you’re concerned, you’re not alone — these are Tim’s tips 👇

1. In areas with lots of wildlife, cover up! The best tip is prevention, particularly with the rise of the mammalian meat allergy. Spray yourself with Bushman’s repellent, wear long sleeves and pants, and check yourself thoroughly after your walk.

2. Use TickTox (or similar) to freeze ticks off. This is best for larger ticks — it will kill them straight away.

3. Apply Lyclear for smaller ticks. Although less effective, it’s also better for tricky spots, and the tick is ready to be removed the next day.

4. Take an antihistamine for a few days after a tick bite to avoid a reaction.

5. Visit us for assistance. We’re open every day and are always ready for walk-ins, whether you’re after the right product or removal advice.

Save this post for when you most need it. Stay tick-safe, and remember, don’t squeeze! 💙

✨ The FAST signs of a stroke ✨

Face - Has their face drooped?
Arms - Can they lift both arms?
Speech - Is it slurred? Can they understand you?
Time - Is critical. Dial 000 straight away if you notice any of these.

Stay safe and aware — it’s too important not to share.

Therese has been with Capital Chemist for 18 years, so to say she’s integral around here is an understatement 💙
