⚠️ TRIGGER WARNING ⚠️
THIS CONTENT CONTAINS GRAPHIC IMAGES OF REAL HUMAN BONES AND MUSCLES. VEIWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED
Today we’re looking at the elbows, knees and hips — and holy s**t, the human body is both amazing and slightly horrifying 😂🦴
Seeing osteoarthritis, meniscus degeneration, a knee replacement and a hip replacement in real human bodies really hits differently. You can actually SEE the wear and tear from years of living. Walking, working, training, injuries, repetitive movement, aging…daaaamn. 😳
The knee and hip replacements were so fascinating. I knew they were major surgeries, but seeing them like this really shows just how invasive they actually are. Bones cut, joints removed, metal components fitted into the body… and somehow people walk again afterwards. Human bodies — and modern medicine — are absolutely wild. 🤯
Also a pretty solid reminder that our joints put up with an unbelievable amount every single day 😅
Bodies are messy, resilient, adaptable little meat machines and I absolutely loved this exhibition. ✨
