Thank you all so much for the love, support, kind messages and well wishes over the past week. We have felt every bit of it, and it has meant more than you'll ever know.
As many of you know, Jade was intubated following the accident last Tuesday before being airlifted to Hobart. He remained sedated until after a five-hour surgery the following day.
He sustained a dislocated elbow, a compound fracture of his ulna, four fractures to his femur, and a significant laceration to his calf. Unfortunately, all of his injuries are on his right-hand side, which will make his recovery and mobility a little more challenging.
For now, Jade is bed-bound and will likely remain that way for the next few weeks, aside from short physiotherapy sessions and being assisted with showering. We know there is still a long road ahead, but we're taking things one day at a time and celebrating every little milestone.
As for the clinic, I will be returning to work next week and will continue working until Jade is discharged home. Once he's home, my availability will depend on the level of care he needs. Because of that uncertainty, I've made the difficult decision to turn off online bookings and not accept any new appointments for the remainder of this year.
To everyone who already has an appointment booked, please know that when you're in my treatment room, that time is yours. My focus will always be on you and the care you need. In many ways, being able to do what I love also gives me a little space to reset, and I'm grateful to be able to continue caring for others during this time.
