After 7 years based on Unley Road, Jacqui Lee Speech Pathology is on the move! I've decided to shift toward providing a mobile practice while I finish off the final year of my Masters in Primary School Teaching, so I'm packing up and moving out of my lovely office. It will be sad to say goodbye to a place I have loved working from but new horizons are in sight which is very exciting! I'm going to need a massive truck to fit all my resources in!

What a massive four days! I've just completed the Sounds-Write training in teaching reading and spelling. It was excellent and I can't wait to put my new learning into action with my clients. I would highly recommend this course for teachers who are looking to learn a method for teaching literacy to students of all ages. This course is based on up-to-date research and evidence about the science of teaching reading and spelling. Lisa Watts did a fabulous job training us at Speld SA. Thanks Lisa!

ANNOUNCING the PHONICS ROADSHOWS

in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and Central Coast NSW.

The Centre for Independent Studies, in partnership with Macquarie University, are pleased to announce a series of Phonics Roadshows which will be delivered in New South Wales, South Australia and Victoria in October and November this year.
The Phonics Roadshow course is one day professional learning which is aligned with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. This event will showcase the evidence basis for systematic, explicit phonics instruction with guest presenters from the FIVE from FIVE Literacy Project and from the ARC Centre of Excellence in Cognition and its Disorders. Host schools will open their classrooms to demonstrate how they put this evidence into action.
Enhance your knowledge of phonics and its role in the teaching of reading.
Hear from leading researchers in the field of reading development.
An opportunity to observe the teaching of phonics in a classroom setting.
Examine the elements of an effective phonics program/approach and ways to implement one into your school.
