Speech Pathology Week is here!

We are kicking off Speech Pathology Week by celebrating the many possibilities that communication can create - starting with the possibility to connect.
Communication gives us the opportunity to connect with our families around us. To share, listen, express ourselves and build relationships.

For some children, communication may look different.

At SPEECH, our team focus on supporting families by building and maintaining relationships by strengthening communication in ways that work for them.
Whether it’s through words, gestures, signs, AAC, facial expressions or other forms of communication, every person deserves the opportunity to connect and be understood.

Throughout this week, we’ll be exploring how speech pathology can create possibilities to connect, learn, grow, belong, choose, participate and ultimately thrive. 🌱✨

A fun and practical workshop designed to support families, educators and teachers with simple strategies to help children build their language, literacy and early reading skills through everyday books and shared reading.

Whether your children loves stories, just beginning to explore books, or you’re looking for new ways to make reading more engaging, we would love to have you join us!

Our Director Anne, flew out to Bangladesh today to deliver 2 PROMPT 3 day workshops. ✈️

This workshop teaches important skills for Speech Language Pathologists assisting children with speech sound development.

Anne is only one of four PROMPT Instructors in Australia. We are proud to have our SPEECH Director supporting international colleagues.

Members of the S.P.E.E.C.H. team recently attended a Research and Sip event at Griffith University.

We were delighted to celebrate and share research supported by Sharene, a student who participated in the SPRINT Project Summer Research Program. It was wonderful to be part of an event that highlights the importance of research, collaboration, and the next generation of researchers.

Team days at SPEECH are all about connecting, learning, and sharing experiences together, and what better way than through food! 🍣✨

We had such a wonderful time enjoying a Japanese cooking class with the talented Chef Keita at @.cookingclass , learning new skills, sharing plenty of laughs, and of course enjoying a delicious meal together.

A big thank you to Chef Keita for a fantastic day and for sharing your knowledge, culture, and passion for Japanese cuisine with us. We loved every moment! Also special thank you to @the__meeting__place for welcoming us into your space.
