MyCare Physiotherapy's vision is to provide an environment whereby anyone with healthcare needs are given the best possible care in a supportive and goal oriented environment. At MyCare Physiotherapy, you are OUR priority and to achieve our vision of providing the best quality service to all, we offer you the most comprehensive, thorough and holistic management program including Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, Deep Tissue Massage and Acupuncture/dry needling as required. We have Physiotherapists with a combined experience of over 40 years and as such we have the experience to find out the root cause of your problems, rather than just treat the symptoms of your problem. Our initial physiotherapy sessions are targeted at finding the cause of your problems through our holistic and thorough assessment of your entire body. Most physiotherapists will only examine the body part related to your condition but at MyCare Physiotherapy we examine all of you to find out the relationship between different objective signs in your body. We will inform you of what we find and by the end of your 1st or 2nd physiotherapy session, you will know exactly what parts of your body that you need to work on and we will provide you with the support you need to "fix" your body. We also have an excellent crew of massage providers to soothe those aches away or provide a true deep tissue massage experience! We believe in our high quality of service and you will too when you experience a session with us at MyCare Physiotherapy. We treat a multitude of musculoskeletal conditions including:

- Neck, Low Back Pain & Sciatica

- Headaches

- Sporting injuries including ankle and knee sprains

Autumn Exercise Tip: If you’re doing strength training, prioritise form over heavier weight.
Good technique helps you target the right muscles, build strength safely, and reduce the risk of common issues like back, shoulder, or knee pain. When form slips, heavier loads often shift stress onto joints and tendons instead of the muscles you’re trying to train.
If you’re unsure about your technique—or you’re getting aches during or after lifting—MyCare Physiotherapy can help. Our team can assess your movement, correct your lifting mechanics, and build a strength plan that suits your body and goals.

**Did you know?**
That “next-day” muscle soreness (DOMS) isn’t caused by lactic acid.
It’s usually due to **tiny micro-tears in muscle fibres** and the **inflammation** that happens as your body repairs and adapts—especially after new exercises, heavier loads, or lots of slow “eccentric” movements (like downhill running or lowering weights).
If soreness is **sticking around, limiting movement, or turning into pain**, it may be a sign your body needs a better plan—not just more rest.
At **MyCare Physiotherapy**, our team can help by:
- Checking your movement and muscle/joint mechanics
- Guiding safe recovery strategies
- Creating a **graded return-to-training** plan to build strength without flare-ups
- Helping reduce injury risk while you keep progressing
Want support with training soreness, recurring tightness, or post-workout pain? **Book an appointment with MyCare Physiotherapy.**

**Exercise myth:** “If the scale doesn’t move, exercise isn’t working.”
**Reality:** Your body can be improving in ways the scale won’t show.
Even when weight stays the same, regular movement can help improve:
- Fitness and strength
- Mood and stress levels
- Sleep quality
- Energy levels
- Health markers (like blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol)
At **MyCare Physiotherapy**, our team can help you choose the right exercises for your goals, injuries, and current fitness level—so you feel progress you can measure beyond the scale.
Want a plan that’s realistic and safe? Send us a message to book an assessment.
Follow-up: Are you exercising mainly for weight loss, pain relief, or overall health?
Next steps suggestion: If you’d like, share your goal and any injuries—our team can recommend a simple starting plan and what to track besides weight.

“Your joints prefer consistency to intensity.”
Your body usually responds better to small, regular movement than the occasional big workout. A short daily walk, gentle mobility work, or a simple strength routine done consistently can help reduce stiffness, build support around your joints, and keep you active long-term.
At **MyCare Physiotherapy**, our team can help you:
- Understand what’s driving your pain or stiffness
- Build a realistic plan you can stick to
- Progress safely without flare-ups
- Improve mobility, strength, and confidence in movement
If you’re not sure where to start, message us or book an appointment and we’ll guide you.

Autumn is a great time to keep moving, but cooler weather and slippery paths can challenge your balance and ankles.
**Quick Autumn Exercise Tip:** Add **calf raises** to support **ankle stability** and help reduce the risk of **Achilles flare-ups**.
**Try this:**
- Stand tall, hold a bench or wall for balance
- Rise up onto your toes, pause 1–2 seconds, lower slowly
- Aim for **2–3 sets of 10–15 reps**, a few times per week
If you’re getting tight calves, morning heel pain, or recurring Achilles soreness, it’s worth addressing early. **The MyCare Physiotherapy team can assess your ankle and Achilles, improve strength and mobility, and guide you with a tailored plan** so you can stay active comfortably this season.
