A lot of people wait until something looks “serious” before booking a skin check, but you don’t have to.

It’s worth booking an appointment if:
✔ You haven’t had a full skin check in the past 12 months
✔ You notice a new spot that looks different from your other moles
✔ A mole changes in size, shape, colour, or texture
✔ You have a sore that doesn’t heal within a few weeks
✔ You have a history of skin cancer or pre-cancerous lesions
✔ You have fair skin, many moles, a family history of melanoma, or spend long periods outdoors

💡 You don’t need certainty to book, just a concern.

At Sunstate Family Practice, our GPs can assess, monitor, and guide you on the next steps with clarity and reassurance.

Skin cancer isn’t always obvious, and often, it’s the small changes that matter most.

Watch for:
🔎 Moles that change in size, shape, or colour
🔎 Uneven borders or multiple shades
🔎 New spots that stand out from others
🔎 Persistent sores, itching, or bleeding

The challenge? Most people don’t remember exactly what their skin looked like before.

That’s where Total Body Mapping (TBM) helps.

📸 TBM creates a consistent visual record of your skin, allowing your GP to compare changes over time, especially in areas you can’t easily see.

Ovarian cancer is often called a “silent” disease, not because symptoms don’t exist, but because they’re easy to overlook.

This World Ovarian Cancer Day, we’re encouraging women to pay attention to persistent changes such as:
• Ongoing bloating
• Pelvic or abdominal discomfort
• Feeling full quickly
• Changes in bladder or bowel habits

There’s currently no routine screening test, which makes early conversations with your GP even more important.

At Sunstate Family Practice, we provide supportive, confidential women’s health consultations, so you feel comfortable raising concerns, no matter how small they may seem.

There’s a lot of misinformation when it comes to skin cancer.

Let’s clear a few things up:

❌ “If it’s not raised, it’s harmless”
✔ Some melanomas are flat and subtle

❌ “I’d notice if something was wrong”
✔ Many changes happen gradually and go unnoticed

❌ “Phone photos are enough to track moles”
✔ Lighting, angles, and quality vary too much

📸 That’s why tools like Total Body Mapping (TBM) are used to provide consistent, medical-grade comparisons over time.

🩺 The goal isn’t to scare you, it’s to give you clarity and confidence about your skin.

📅 If something doesn’t feel right, it’s worth checking.

When was the last time you checked your skin?

Here’s a simple 30-second self-check guide you can do at home:

👀 Look for:
• A new mole or spot
• A mole that’s changing in size, shape, or colour
• Uneven edges or multiple shades
• A sore that won’t heal
• Anything that just looks “off”

💡 Don’t forget hard-to-see areas like your back, scalp, and shoulders.

If you’re unsure, don’t wait.

At Sunstate Family Practice, we combine clinical skin checks with tools like Total Body Mapping (TBM) to make monitoring more accurate over time.

📅 When in doubt, get it checked.

Skin cancer isn’t always about what you see today; it’s about what’s changed over time.

The challenge?
Most people don’t remember exactly what their moles looked like months ago.

That’s where Total Body Mapping (TBM) comes in.

📸 TBM captures consistent, full-body images that allow your GP to:
• Compare “then vs now”
• Detect subtle changes early
• Monitor patterns over time

No guesswork. No relying on memory.

Just clear, trackable data that supports better decisions.

🩺 Because when it comes to skin cancer, change is everything.
