Bowel Cancer Awareness Month is a reminder of the importance of early detection and screening.

Bowel cancer is one of the most common cancers in Australia, but when detected early, treatment outcomes are often much better. Symptoms can include changes in bowel habits, blood in the stool, abdominal pain, or ongoing fatigue.

If you have concerns about your bowel health, notice ongoing symptoms, or are due for screening, we encourage you to visit our clinic and speak with your doctor.

Heart Health & Mental Wellbeing ❤️

Good health is about looking after both your physical and mental wellbeing. Taking small steps towards a healthier lifestyle can make a big difference over time.

Regular exercise, healthy eating, quality sleep, managing stress, staying socially connected, and attending routine health check-ups all play an important role in supporting overall wellbeing.

A Heart Health Check is a simple assessment that helps identify your risk of heart disease and only takes around 20 minutes.

Taking time to look after your mental health is just as important as caring for your physical health. If you have been feeling overwhelmed, stressed, anxious, or simply not yourself, support is available.

If you are due for a Heart Health Check, have concerns about your blood pressure, stress levels, or mental wellbeing, we encourage you to visit our clinic and speak with your doctor.

ANZAC Day – Clinic Closure Notice

ANZAC Day, observed on 25 April, is a time for Australians and New Zealanders to come together in remembrance of the courage, sacrifice, and service of the men and women who have served our country in times of war, conflict, and peacekeeping.

It is a day to honour the ANZAC spirit of courage, mateship, resilience, and sacrifice, and to reflect on the freedoms we enjoy because of those who served.

Please note that Virginia Medical Centre will be closed on Saturday 25 April in observance of ANZAC Day.

Normal business hours will resume on Monday 27 April.

Lest we forget.

RedFeb – Heart Research Month ❤️

February is RedFeb – Heart Research Month, a time to raise awareness of heart health and the importance of life-saving research.

Heart disease remains one of the leading causes of death, affecting individuals and families across our community. Research plays a vital role in prevention, early detection, and improved treatment—helping more people live longer, healthier lives.

RedFeb is an opportunity to reflect on heart health, increase awareness of risk factors, and encourage conversations about prevention and early detection.

If you have concerns about your heart health, a family history of heart disease, or are due for a routine check-up, we encourage you to see your doctor or visit our clinic to discuss heart health screening and prevention.

Together, small steps can help protect heart health now and into the future.
