Today at Ability Gateway we are proudly celebrating National Pyjama Day by swapping our usual clothes for our favourite PJs in support of a meaningful cause.

National Pyjama Day raises vital funds for children living in foster care, helping provide opportunities, support and brighter futures. Wearing our pyjamas is a simple way to symbolise the care, comfort and security that every child deserves.

A big milestone for Pete! 🎉

To celebrate his 50th birthday, Pete decided it was finally time to get his very first tattoo. As a lifelong Sydney Swans supporter, there was no better choice than a tattoo representing the team he’s loved for as long as he can remember.

When asked how much it hurt, Pete’s response was, “2 out of 10!” And when we asked if he’d get another one, he laughed and said, “Yeah… when I’m 60!”

A huge thank you to Zara for supporting Pete on this memorable outing and helping make his birthday celebration one to remember. ❤️🦢

❄️ The team at Ability Gateway is sleeping out and braving the cold to help shine a spotlight on homelessness and raise much needed funds for St Vincent de Paul Society NSW.

Every night, too many people in our community face the reality of not having a safe place to call home. By taking part, we’re helping raise awareness and support for those who need it most.

🙌🏼 GOOD NEWS STORY 🙌🏼

Jen’s hard work, determination, and resilience over the past 18 months has truly paid off. She never gave up. She continued to work hard, stay positive, and kept smiling through the challenges. We are so proud to see her begin a traineeship in Early Childhood at Inspire Early Learning Centre. This is a wonderful achievement and the start of an exciting new chapter.

Superhero Day In Honour of Nate Lawson 🦸‍♂️

On Friday, 5 June, we will come together to celebrate Superhero Day in honour of Nate Lawson.

Nate was an 11 year old local boy and a cherished family member of one of our staff. Sadly, Nate passed away on 22 May 2022 after a courageous battle with a rare disorder called Schimke Immuno-Osseous Dysplasia (SIOD). He was the first child in Australia to be diagnosed with this condition.

All funds raised during this event will be donated to the Paediatric Ward at Wagga Wagga Base Hospital, helping support other children and families in need.

We encourage everyone to get involved, dress up as your favourite superhero, and help us honour Nate in a meaningful way 💙💚

A huge congratulations to Kyan on graduating and finishing his nursing degree! 🎓👏

Kyan has been part of our journey since almost the very beginning in 2022, and it’s been incredible to watch his growth, dedication, and passion over the years.

As he wraps up his time with us and steps into his nursing career this May, we couldn’t be prouder. While we’ll definitely miss having him around, we’re so excited to see him take this next step and make a real difference in the lives of others.
