The Pelvic Hot Seat 🔥 but we’re doing things a little differently for the next few Fridays!

We’re taking a break from our usual pelvic health questions and putting the Nova Pelvic Health team in the Hot Seat instead.

Each week, we’ll be reintroducing one of our team members, sharing a little about who they are, what they do and, most importantly, why they do what they do.

This week, it’s Kristy 👋🏼

Kristy has been part of the Nova Pelvic Health team for around four years, working with us in different capacities while also navigating life with her own growing family.

For Kristy, choosing Women’s Health Physio was all about being able to support women through the different stages of their lives, from the exciting times of pregnancy and having babies, through to the more challenging times too.

She loves getting to know her patients, working closely with them and supporting them to achieve their individual goals.

And we’re pretty lucky to have her as part of the Nova Pelvic Health team 🩷

Next Friday, we’ll be introducing another member of our team!

Could these 3 everyday habits be making your pelvic floor symptoms worse?

There are a few things we do without thinking twice that can actually put extra pressure on the pelvic floor or make bladder and bowel symptoms more difficult to manage.

In this week’s education video, Millie talks us through 3 common habits to think about:

👉 Chronic constipation & straining
👉 Chronic coughing
👉 Going to the toilet “just in case”

The good news? These are things we can often work on and change and sometimes a few small adjustments can make a big difference.

Hit play to hear Millie explain why these habits matter and what you can do differently. 🫶🏻

And if you’re struggling with bladder, bowel or pelvic floor symptoms, you don’t have to just put up with them.

We are so excited to introduce Hannah ! One of the newest faces joining our admin team at Nova Pelvic Health!

Why did you choose Nova Pelvic Health?
"I chose Nova Pelvic Health because I wanted to be part of a team that empowers people on their pelvic health journey while creating a warm, welcoming environment where everyone feels comfortable and supported."

A fun fact about Hannah!
Hannah has been a primary school teacher for over 10 years and is now embarking on an exciting new chapter in healthcare with our team. We think that's pretty amazing!

We are so thrilled to have Hannah on board and cannot wait for you to meet her. Please give her a warm welcome when you see her! 🤍

The Pelvic Hot Seat 🔥 but we’re doing things a little differently for the next few Fridays!

With our new space, some new faces joining the team and lots of new followers, we thought it was the perfect time to reintroduce the people behind Nova Pelvic Health.

So, over the coming weeks, we’re putting each of our team members in the Hot Seat to share a little about themselves, what they do and, most importantly, why they do what they do.

First up… Jenna 👋🏼

The founder of Nova Pelvic Health, pelvic floor physio and the person who started this whole thing with a pretty big belief:

Where you live shouldn’t determine the quality of pelvic health care you can access.

Jenna’s passion for pelvic health started after questioning whether she’d chosen the right path in physiotherapy. Fast forward a few years and it’s safe to say she found exactly where she was meant to be.

Her passion for helping women and men through some of the most vulnerable times in their lives is a huge part of what makes Nova Pelvic Health what it is today.

And now, seeing Nova Pelvic Health grow into the team and space it has today is something she’s pretty proud of. 🥰

So if you’re new around here, now you know a little more about the person behind the vision.

Next Friday, we’ll be putting another member of the team in the Hot Seat!

Pelvic pain or a tight pelvic floor? Save for later 🤍

Millie takes us through three gentle stretches to help with pelvic pain and pelvic floor relaxation.

1. Cat-Cow
Breathe in as you drop your belly, breathe out as you push the ground away. Let your breath guide the movement.

2. Child’s Pose
Knees nice and wide, hands drawing towards the top of your mat. Add a little side flexion — walking your hands to each side to open through the rib cage.

3. Reclined Butterfly
Onto your back, knees resting out wide. Focus on slow, deep breaths right down into the low belly.

Try these whenever you need to decompress and reconnect with your body. 🌿

And if pelvic pain is something you’re dealing with regularly, our team is here to help, you don’t have to just stretch through it.

The Pelvic Hot Seat 🔥

This week’s question: Should I be doing pelvic floor exercises in pregnancy?

The short answer? Yes.

Strengthening your pelvic floor during pregnancy can be a really important part of preparing for life after birth and may help reduce the risk of issues like bladder and bowel leakage postpartum.

But here’s the part that’s often forgotten, A healthy pelvic floor isn’t just one that’s strong it’s one that can relax too.

If you’re planning a vaginal birth, your pelvic floor needs to be able to let go and make space for your baby during labour.

That’s why we focus on helping you build both strength and good mind-muscle connection, so you can learn when to switch those muscles on and when to let them relax.

đź’¬ Before today, did you know your pelvic floor needs to learn to relax as well as strengthen?

This is what community looks like. 🤍

Tonight we opened the doors to our new home and watched an empty room fill with the very people who made it possible.

Our patients, our referrers, our friends and our team. The people who trusted us, supported us, and showed up for their own health when it mattered most.

When we first opened the doors to Nova Pelvic Health, our goal was simple to create a place where women felt truly heard, supported and cared for. What we didn’t expect was just how much you would give back to us in return.

Your trust, your kindness, and your willingness to be part of this journey is the reason we’re standing in a brand new space today. This new chapter exists because of you.

Thank you for being part of the Nova Pelvic Health family. Here’s to everything ahead. 🥂
