๐ŸŒฑ Grounded Mind โ€“ Growing Together ๐ŸŒฑ

For our final session (Week 4), we moved indoors to complete our beautiful native seed pod wall hangings and reflected on our personal wellbeing through the My Wellbeing Garden activity. Together, we explored the people, strengths and self-care practices that nourish us, the challenges we continue to work through and the hopes we want to cultivate in the months ahead.

Throughout the four-week program, participants embraced the opportunity to slow down, connect with nature and each other and discover that wellbeingโ€”like a gardenโ€”is something we can gently nurture over time.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated with such openness and kindness. It has been a privilege to witness your courage, growth and willingness to try something new.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Bunnings Wagga Wagga for generously supporting the program through the donation of plants and gardening materials. Your contribution helped make these meaningful experiences possible.

Remember...

๐ŸŒฟ Growth doesn't happen overnight.
Every small act of self-care, every new connection, and every moment spent nurturing yourself is helping to build stronger roots for the future.

Thank you for growing with us. ๐Ÿ’š

๐ŸŒฟ Grounded Mind โ€“ Week 3: Connecting with Nature ๐ŸŒฟ

Last week, our Grounded Mind participants stepped outside to slow down, reconnect with nature, and simply be present.

Together, we explored how spending time in natural environments can calm the nervous system, reduce stress, and improve overall wellbeing. Through a guided 5 Senses mindfulness activity, participants noticed the sights, sounds, textures, scents and colours around them, helping to anchor themselves in the present moment. We also reflected on what helps us grow and thrive, just as the trees and plants around us do.

Research continues to show that even short periods in nature can improve mood, reduce anxiety and restore our attention. Sometimes the greatest healing comes from taking a moment to pause beneath the trees and reconnect with the world around us.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for another wonderful session. We look forward to seeing you next week as we continue growing together. ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ’š

๐Ÿ’™ International Day of Friendship ๐Ÿ’™

At LikeMind Wagga, we believe friendship is one of the most powerful foundations for mental wellbeing and recovery.

In a world where conflict, loneliness, and division can leave people feeling isolated, friendship offers something profoundly humanโ€”a sense of belonging, hope, and connection.

The strongest friendships arenโ€™t always built through extraordinary acts. They begin with simple moments: a conversation, a warm smile, a shared coffee, a listening ear, or the courage to reach out. These everyday acts of kindness remind people that they matter and that they are never alone.

For many people living with mental health challenges, meaningful relationships are more than companionshipโ€”they are a vital part of recovery. Feeling seen, heard, accepted, and valued can restore confidence, strengthen resilience, and inspire hope for the future.

This International Day of Friendship, letโ€™s celebrate the connections that bring us together. By choosing kindness, embracing inclusion, and supporting one another, we create stronger, more compassionate communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

Because recovery grows through connection, communities flourish through compassion, and friendship has the power to change livesโ€”one relationship at a time.

Happy International Day of Friendship from everyone at LikeMind Wagga. ๐Ÿ’™

๐ŸŒฑ Grounded Mind โ€“ Week 3: Plant Propagation ๐ŸŒฑ

After a wet start to the day, we decided to stay indoors and learn the simple art of plant propagation while exploring how new beginnings often start with small, unseen changes. Just as a cutting slowly developed roots beneath the surface, participants reflected on how healing, resilience and confidence also grow quietly over time.

Together we:
๐ŸŒฟ Learned how to propagate indoor plants from cuttings
๐ŸŒฑ Explored the connection between nature and personal growth
๐Ÿ’š Reflected on resilience, renewal and hope
๐Ÿชด Took home a propagated cutting to continue nurturing

The session reminded us that sometimes the most important growth is happening beneath the surface. Every small step contributes to building stronger foundations for the future. ๐ŸŒฟ

Thank you to everyone who attended and embraced the opportunity to slow down, connect with nature, and recognise the quiet strength that comes from patience and persistence.

๐ŸŒฟ Celebrating Connection, Culture and Community ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’›โค๏ธ

Last Tuesday, LikeMind Wagga Wagga was privileged to host our NAIDOC Week Indigenous Weaving Workshop, facilitated by Aunty Lorraine Tye and Linda Elliott, creator of Gathering Moments.

Participants came together to learn the traditional art of weaving while sharing stories, laughter and meaningful conversations in a welcoming and culturally safe space. It was inspiring to see everyone encourage one another as they developed new skills and gained a deeper appreciation for the knowledge, traditions and creativity that have been passed down through generations.

At LikeMind, we recognise that connectionโ€”to culture, community and each otherโ€”is an important part of wellbeing. Workshops such as these provide opportunities to slow down, be present, learn from one another and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

A heartfelt thank you to Aunty Lorraine and Linda for generously sharing your knowledge, patience and passion with us. We are also grateful to everyone who attended and helped make the morning such a warm and memorable experience.

As we celebrate NAIDOC Week 2026, we continue to honour the strength, resilience and enduring cultures of First Nations peoples and remain committed to fostering respect, understanding and meaningful connections within our community.

๐Ÿ‚โ„๏ธ Grounded Mind โ€“ Week 1: Embracing Winter โ„๏ธ๐Ÿ‚

This week, our Grounded Mind participants gathered to begin a gentle journey of connection, reflection and growth through nature.

Together we explored the quiet wisdom of winter โ€” discovering that while the season encourages us to slow down, important growth is still happening beneath the surface.

Participants reflected on their own "season of life," identified the strengths they already carry, and discovered which Australian winter symbol best represented them, from the resilience of wattle to the endurance of eucalyptus.

Our creative activity invited everyone to connect with native plants by creating beautiful winter leaf impressions, revealing the hidden patterns and textures found in nature. As each leaf left its unique imprint, we reflected on the changes we've experienced, the strengths we've developed, and what we'd like to nurture within ourselves over the coming weeks.

๐ŸŒฟ This week's reminder:
"Even in winter, roots continue to grow."

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and shared their stories with openness and kindness. We look forward to continuing this journey together as we reconnect with nature, ourselves and each other.

๐Ÿ’š Grounded Mind is proudly facilitated by LikeMind and uses therapeutic horticulture to support mental wellbeing through meaningful connection with nature.
