I have been an MT since 2008 and within that time I have worked in different settings of massage clinic, fitness center, tanning salon, chiropractic clinic, mobile events and self employed. Your body loves free medicine, so you should take it...❤️

Nobody is selling you a hum. There’s no protocol for a yawn, and a long hug doesn’t come with a monthly subscription. But these are some of the oldest ways your body has of telling your nervous system the threat is over.

Hum in the car. Hold the hug a few seconds longer than feels normal. Let the yawn happen instead of swallowing it. Sigh out loud. Cry when it comes, laugh until your stomach hurts, sing off key, dance in the kitchen.

Your nervous system doesn’t rank any of these. A cry in the car and a belly laugh both count as release, and both tell your body it’s safe enough to feel something all the way through.

Most of us were taught to push through. So the work isn’t learning something new. It’s letting your body do what it already knows how to do.

Save this for the day you need the reminder, or send it to someone who’s been pushing through instead of feeling through.
