This week is World Breastfeeding Week and weโ€™re celebrating the support and care that helps families to feel confident as they navigate feeding their baby.

Breast milk is often described as a baby's first superfood. It naturally changes to meet a baby's needs - providing hydration on hot days, antibodies when mum or baby is unwell, nutrients as they grow, and even gentle signals that it's time to sleep.

Every family's feeding journey is unique, and we know it doesn't always go to plan. That's why our Lactation Clinic at Northeast Health Wangaratta is here to provide personalised advice, practical support and reassurance to help families make informed choices and work towards their own feeding goals.

This week we thank our wonderful Lactation Consultants for the knowledge and support they provide to local families every day, helping give babies the very best start in life.

A huge thank you to the Greta Football Netball Club and the wider Greta community for their incredible support of Northeast Health Wangaratta's Oncology Unit.

Through their 13th annual fundraising dinner, the club raised an amazing $3,500 to support local cancer care. Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, volunteers, attendees and supporters, these funds will help our Oncology Unit continue providing exceptional care and support to patients and families close to home.

Knowing every dollar raised stays right here in our local community makes this contribution even more meaningful.
