🚨 SUNNY & FRANKIE HAVE A CONFESSION… 🚨

“Yeah… we ate something we probably shouldn’t have.” 🫵

Meet Sunny, our gorgeous 6-year-old Bull Terrier x, and Frankie the Frenchie, who came in for an exploratory laparotomy to investigate a possible foreign body.

Because apparently, this week’s theme is “Dogs vs. Things They Definitely Shouldn’t Eat.” 😂

Sunny spent 3 days with us recovering, and Frankie was with us for 2 days, and while we’re sure they enjoyed all the attention, we suspect Frankie & Sunny’s main takeaway from the experience was:

👉 Maybe don’t eat random objects? 🩲🤭

Thankfully, Frankie & Sunny were superstars throughout their stay and are now on the road to recovery. ❤️‍🩹🐶

Reminder to all dog owners: if it fits in their mouth, some dogs will consider it a snack. Socks, toys, wrappers, rocks, underwear… apparently the menu is endless. 🤦‍♀️

Get well soon, Frankie & Sunny! And please… no more mystery snacks! 😂❤️

🐾🕷️ Australian Tick Season is Here! 🕷️🐾

Ticks are more than just a nuisance—they can be life-threatening for our pets. Paralysis ticks are commonly found along Australia's east coast and can affect both dogs and cats.

✅ How to protect your pet:
• Use a veterinarian-recommended tick prevention product year-round.
• Check your pet daily, especially after walks or time outdoors.
• Pay close attention to the head, neck, ears, and between the toes.
• Keep grass and gardens well maintained to reduce tick habitats.
• Avoid known tick-prone areas where possible.

⚠️ Signs of tick paralysis can include:
• Weakness or wobbliness
• Changes in bark or meow
• Vomiting or coughing
• Difficulty breathing
• Collapse

If you find a tick or notice any of these signs, contact your veterinarian immediately. Early treatment can save lives.

Captain is already getting a head start on his training, learning to target his rug — a simple but super useful skill that helps teach calm behaviour, focus, and confidence during his vet visits. 🐶✨

With a little patience, plenty of positive reinforcement, and lots of tasty rewards, Captain is learning that his rug is a safe and happy place to settle. 🥰
