💪 4 Common Causes of Shoulder Pain

Shoulder pain can come from a number of different structures, and understanding what may be contributing to your symptoms is an important part of finding the right approach.

Here are 4 common causes of shoulder pain that we see in clinic:

1️⃣ Rotator Cuff-Related Shoulder Pain

-Pain involving the muscles and tendons that help control shoulder movement.

2️⃣ Frozen Shoulder

-A condition that causes significant pain and progressive restriction of shoulder movement.

3️⃣ Shoulder Arthritis

-Changes to the shoulder joint that can cause pain, stiffness and reduced movement.

4️⃣ AC Joint Injury

-Pain and irritation around the joint at the top of the shoulder, often following injury or increased loading.

These conditions can have overlapping symptoms, so an accurate assessment is important to determine what's contributing to your shoulder pain.

If shoulder pain is affecting your work, gym, sport or everyday activities, our team can help.

Some of the common signs include:

✅Pain over the bony lump on the outside of your elbow

✅Pain which starts in the elbow and moves into the forearm and wrist

These symptoms can have several causes so getting a thorough assessment is important in developing the appropriate treatment plan for you.
