Things have been evolving over the past twelve months, and I'm making a few changes in how I present my business... On the surface they might look subtle, but underneath it's to make sure my work feels more aligned, and to create some space for what wants to evolve in the coming months and years πŸ’«

My current offerings:

✳️ Hypnosis sessions - current 1:1 sessions will largely remain the same with a blend of hypnosis, body psychotherapy, somatic exploration, and nervous system and embodiment practices, meeting you where you're at. In these sessions we will focus on connecting you with your body and subconscious innate intelligence and exploring the root cause to create changes - rather than focusing purely on results and outcome.

✳️ Energy healing sessions - these will be a more receptive where you can lie back, be guided into relaxation and I'll work with Reiki and sound to support a reset and create shifts.

I am moving away from the term "Clinical Hypnotherapist", as it has started to feel limiting and there is so much more that wants to evolve... I am excited about where things are leading, although it still feels somewhat mysterious and unknown to me as well right now πŸ˜‚πŸ©· watch this space πŸ‘€πŸ’«

Years ago, when I got sick, I'd push through, keep doing the things, take the cold and flu tablets, keep going, going, going, until I couldn't.

Since I've been practising hypnotherapy - it's become really clear this is not an option. My voice and my body are instruments for my work, so if I'm not feeling good, I can't offer the presence, availability and connection that I want to in session.

The work I've done personally, and working with people who come to see me, means I need a different relationship with my body. I can no longer ignore what's going on in my body; whether it's a tickle in my throat, feeling exhausted, noticing my inner dialogue becoming increasingly critical or something else. I need to pay attention! (Easier said than done when solo parenting three kids and running two businesses - I still push longer than I probably should πŸ˜…)

So as much as there is a part of my mind still wanting to do *all of the things*, and worrying about letting people down, or 'falling behind', today I rest. Learning to trust the world won't fall apart when I stop, and all the good stuff is still waiting on the other side of it 🩷 work in progress!

Our subconscious minds and bodies don't communicate in the same way that our conscious mind does. Where words and thoughts are the communication style for critical thinking, our subconscious minds speak with sensations, emotions and images.

Interestingly, in the survey I shared around eighteen months ago, many people said they would hesitate to try hypnotherapy for fear it would bring up unexpected emotions. Fair, when most of us are taught to shut feelings down most of our lives!

Getting emotional in session is always welcome and usually means we're onto something! Sitting with it, getting curious and exploring what sense and images accompany the emotion can be a really impactful process. You don't need to know the why, the story, or have any judgements about it (easier said that done πŸ˜…) for it to be helpful.

That doesn't mean you have to be emotional, everyone is so individual and our minds are bodies all communicate differently. Wherever you are at and however you show up in session is perfect.

I guess it comes down to your individual desires - do you want to be substantial? A whole being? Or are you satisfied with playing in the shallows? (Hats off to you, if that's your jam. Ignorance is bliss, as they say).

All of us have shadows, parts of ourselves that we push out of sight or avoid (consciously and unconsciously), that make us uncomfortable, shameful or perhaps down right disgusted. Whether it's our anger, jealousy, insecurities, interests, fears or even your confidence. They don't have to be perceived as "negative" to be shadows - we often fear our own greatest desires and dreams and keep them hidden, out of sight.

Pretending these parts don't exist or letting them go unacknowledged is not something to be ashamed of. There's a reason they're in the shadows - keeping them there has been an adaptive survival response. But when they start to spill out sideways, they can stop you from doing the things you want to do, or come out in unhealthy ways such as snapping, lashing out, gossiping, judging and criticising ourselves and others. We could all do much better to find the courage to get to know and integrate those parts of ourselves, so we can live consciously without the programs of our shadows running the show.

Some things to contemplate to start shining light on your shadows:
πŸŒ€ What most triggers you?
πŸŒ€ What do you most judge in others?
πŸŒ€ What do you struggle to admit even to yourself?
πŸŒ€ When does your inner critic become the loudest?
πŸŒ€ What do you feel shame around being or wanting?
πŸŒ€ What inner dialogue do you notice that talks you out of things you know you want to do?

These are also usually where the most magic is found on the other side ✨
