Well this is interesting.. I’ve been BLOCKED!

You all know I have been a loud and proud supporter of reproductive and menstrual health accessibility for years, and this includes supporting the charity Share the Dignity..

No more.

I commented on a post that they shared a few days ago (find it on their page - it’s the first photo I have shared here) that was factually wrong and deeply offensive to all the amazing nurses out there. And not just a little bit wrong. Wrong on every level. 
They stated (with no authority) that nurses don’t routinely check if a human is menstruating when they present at hospital..

THEY ABSOLUTELY ARE. A human might be bleeding everywhere, but they WILL also be checked to see if they have their period.

My husband is a 30+year veteran critical care/ICU/ED nurse.
My youngest daughter just graduated RN.
You know how I feel about nurses

And despite letting them know they were wrong (see photo 2), they doubled down and blocked me. And deleted every comment I made.

Well, that’s one way of accepting you’re wrong.

So dear sharethedignityaustralia I won’t be supporting you anymore.

I’ll be supporting direct action - the 10 pairs of period pants that one of my teacher patients mentioned were in high demand..
Money for a local housing co-op for women and children escaping dv..

Anywhere but you.

You block a supporter when you are respectfully and politely corrected?

Yeah, nah.

I’m in a turn-of-season, cbf cooking slump, so it’s back to basics I go. Ironic, as the garden is absolutely bursting with gifts. So, oil, spices, veg, a cooked grain and off we go. Delicious, nutritious and will feed me for days. Freezes too. .

F**k endo. F**k every misdiagnosis. F**k every missed diagnosis. F**k the gaslighting. F**k the downplaying. F**k the ignorance. F**k the pain. F**k that fu***ng obstetrician. F**k waiting 10 years for a diagnosis. F**k having to undergo surgery for a diagnosis.
