Australia has updated its national guidelines for the early detection of prostate cancer.

At Gladstone Street Medical Clinic, our doctors can talk with you about:
- Your personal risk factors
- The benefits and limitations of PSA testing
- How often testing may be appropriate for you
- What further assessment may be needed if your PSA is elevated

If you are 50 or older, or have a family history of prostate cancer, it may be a good time to have a conversation with your doctor.

This three-day national event organised by APNA - Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association, provides hands-on continuing professional development, networking and future-focused clinical education for primary health care nurses.

After six months developing her GP skills with the team at Trafalgar Medical, Masaa returns to us for her final GP training placement before Fellowship.

We are delighted to welcome Dr Lauren Downie back to Gladstone Street Medical Clinic next week after spending the past year in Canada with her family.

Dr Lauren will be consulting on Mondays and Thursdays and is now taking appointments.

Lauren has a special interest and training in:

🤰 Pregnancy care and intrapartum care
🌿 Menopause management

As Dr Joe's placement with us comes to an end later this month, we'd like to congratulate him on recently sitting his ACRRM MCQ examination, an important milestone on his journey towards becoming a Rural Generalist!

Joe has been a valued member of our team, and we are incredibly proud of his dedication, compassion and commitment to providing high-quality care to our community.

We would also like to sincerely thank our patients for placing their trust in our GP registrars. By welcoming registrars into your healthcare journey, you play a vital role in their education and development. The opportunity to care for patients in a supportive community setting is fundamental to shaping confident, compassionate and highly skilled future Specialist General Practitioners.
