Acupuncture for peri-menopause and menopause with Sophie Sophie Rowe Acupuncture

There is a lot that regular Acupuncture appointments can do for transitioning into menopause. This phase of change and transformation is different for every individual and that’s where Traditional Chinese Medicine shines, each person is treated differently to assist their unique presentation.

The first treatment includes lots of questioning in order to determine exactly what that person is going through, followed by the insertion of very fine sterile needles into a prescription of points which may change from treatment to treatment as the body changes. A series of treatments will be prescribed in order to keep the momentum rolling in the transition into menopause.

Interestingly Traditional Chinese Medicine recognises that a female begins her transition in her mid to late 30’s, when her Jing (energy) starts to decrease and her Shen (spirit) increases. This is one of the recognised positive outcomes of menopause, the woman is seen as increasingly spiritually wise, like a beautiful butterfly coming out of its cocoon. Hormonally changes generally occur between 40 and 50, this is identified as perimenopause and can be a difficult time of transition as hormones fluctuate and are irregular. Menopause is defined as 1 year of no menstruation.

Acupuncture works very well conjunctively with other treatment modalities and can be combined with medical treatment as well as natural therapies.

Hello Oasis community,

A little reminder that Oasis will be closed for Anzac Day and the Public Holiday this Saturday April 25th to Monday April 27th.

We will be open again with reception and practitioners returning to clinic next Tuesday April 28th from 8am.
