Not sure where to go for medical care?

1800MEDICARE (1800 633 422) is a free, 24/7 helpline where you can speak with a registered nurse about any health concern.

The nurse will assess your symptoms and help you find the right care, whether that's:
🏠 Looking after yourself at home
👨‍⚕️ Seeing a GP
🏥 Visiting a local health service, such as the Warrnambool Urgent Care Clinic

If you call after hours (6:00pm–8:00am Monday to Friday, and all weekend) and the nurse recommends you see a GP, they may be able to arrange a 1800MEDICARE GP telehealth consultation.

Urgent care is when you need medical attention for an illness or injury that can be managed without a trip to the emergency department, but cannot wait for a regular appointment with a general practitioner (GP).

Medicare UCCs provide acute episodic care and treatment that does not require a hospital admission. This may include:

minor infections
minor fractures, sprains, sports injuries and neck and back pain
urinary tract infections (UTIs)
sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
minor cuts
insect bites and rashes
minor eye and ear problems
respiratory illness
gastroenteritis
mild burns.

If you have an injury or illness that needs medical attention, there are three questions you can ask yourself before deciding where to go for help:

Is it life-threatening and do I need emergency care?
Is it something a GP or nurse can treat?
Can it wait until I can get an appointment to see my local GP?

If it’s not an emergency but you can’t wait for a regular appointment with your GP… that’s a case for a Medicare Urgent Care Clinic.

Friday 3 July: 3:30pm – 9:30pm CLOSED

Outside of these closure periods, the clinic will be open as usual from 9:30am to 9:30pm daily, providing free care for urgent, non-life-threatening conditions.

🚨 SCAM ALERT – Fake HotDoc Messages 🚨

We have been made aware of a scam currently targeting patients via SMS messages pretending to be from HotDoc.

These messages may claim there is an urgent issue with your account, booking, or a refund and may ask you to click a link or provide banking information.

⚠️ Please be aware:
• These messages are NOT from HotDoc.
• Do not click any links.
• Do not provide personal or banking information.
• Delete the message and report it as spam.

HotDoc has confirmed that these messages are fraudulent and that there has been no data breach from HotDoc.

How to identify a genuine HotDoc message:
✔ It will usually include your name.
✔ It will reference your clinic or doctor.
✔ It will contain appointment or booking information.
✔ Official HotDoc links only direct to hotdoc.com, hotdoc.com.au, or hotdoc.io.
✔ HotDoc emails come from .com.au or .com, .com.au, or .io.

Please remain vigilant, as scammers are increasingly impersonating trusted organisations through SMS, emails, and phone calls.

If you receive a suspicious message claiming to be from HotDoc, do not interact with it. Delete it immediately and report it as spam.

If you are ever unsure whether a message relating to your appointment is genuine, please contact our clinic directly.
