🚨 A rare spot has just opened up at Connect Farmstays! 🚨
**NDIS Group Respite - Children's Group**

For nearly 3 years, our children's respite group has almost run at full capacity with 6 kids — it's genuinely our most sought-after group and spots almost never come up. But one has just unexpectedly become available, and we'd love to find the right fit.
We're looking for an NDIS participant aged 8–13 to join a group of kids who's main interests include:

🎮 Gaming — PS5, Xbox, Switch & PC
🛹 Cruising the local skatepark
🎣 Fishing
🎱 Playing pool
📺 Watching anime

This group has built real friendships over the years, and this is a genuine chance to become part of something already well established — not starting from scratch with a brand new group.

📋 Group-based support, 1:3 ratio
📍 Warrnambool-based, farm setting (10 minute drive outside Warrnambool)
✅ Suited to plan-managed and self-managed participants

**NDIS GROUP RESPITE - TEENAGER GROUP - AGES 13 TO 17**

Hello all,

Just an update on our groups for group respite, we now have one spot open for our teenagers group as one of our teenagers turned 18 and had to move up to the adults group as part of the NDIS rules. This group currently has 5 participants who's main interests include
- Video Games (PS5, Xbox, Switch, PC)
- Fishing
- Pulling apart/putting together computers/laptops
- Playing Pool

We are looking for someone from age range 13-17 who may fit this group for group respite in Warrnambool and surrounding areas. This group has been running for nearly 3 years and this new spot will re-fill the group once the spot is taken.

Farmstay Weekend Group Respite and Independent Supports for NDIS participants, located in South-West Victoria.

Hello everyone,

The NDIS has undergone significant change this year, especially recently around respite services. These changes have moved quickly, and we recognise this has left many families uncertain about what the future holds for respite care. We also expect the scheme will continue to change in the years ahead, as reform keeps reshaping how respite and disability supports are delivered across the sector.

We want to put something on record: our commitment to all our participants and support network isn't changing.

We established Connect Farmstays because we saw a genuine need for respite that families could feel confident in — a place people look forward to attending, not simply a service that meets a minimum requirement. That founding purpose continues to guide every decision we make, regardless of what changes around it.

The farm remains the same. Our team remains the same. The stays away, whether it's a weekday, a weeknight, or a weekend — remain the same. Meals and day-to-day activities continue to be included as part of your stay, with only minimal changes to off-site activities. You and your family will continue to be supported by the same familiar, trusted faces, not an unfamiliar or rotating roster of staff.

We recognise that providers across the sector are navigating difficult decisions in response to these pricing changes and we understand that each business is responding in the way it considers appropriate for its own circumstances. For our part, Matt and I built Connect Farmstays to be something families could depend on, particularly during a period where so much else can at times feel uncertain. That reliability is central to what we do, and it is not something we are willing to compromise.

We are also continuing to progress our formal NDIS registration and we welcome any questions you may have about what this means for you or your family.

🧸✨ TOY MAKERS CLUB — School Holiday Workshops in Warrnambool! ✨🧸

Leonard has been a friend of ours — Matt and Steven's — for over 20 years, and honestly, we couldn't be prouder to share what he's built with Create with Care and now his new Toymakers program. He's an incredibly talented artist, and we've watched him pour that talent into helping others for years.

For the past 4 years, Leonard has worked in disability support, including running public programs — and along the way he had a simple but brilliant idea: combine his love of art with support work, so that people who might not otherwise have access to creative making can get hands-on and have a go.

That idea has grown into Toymakers — a series of model-making workshops open to everyone, with priority given to participants who need it most. Each session is a "taste test" into model making: a themed project where you learn real skills hands-on, then take that knowledge home to keep creating.

What makes it special isn't just the projects (though — kart-racer characters, dragons, miniature worlds? Pretty cool) — it's Leonard himself. His approach is all about empowering people to make their own learning connections. He offers the space, the tools, and a window into creative ideas, then meets people where their interests are so they can grow new skills naturally and walk away feeling genuinely capable.

It's a rare thing to find someone this skilled who is also this caring and patient — and we've seen it firsthand. We couldn't recommend Leonard and his workshops more highly.

Hello Everyone,

After a long period of fully booked groups, we now have a small number of respite spots available at Connect Farmstays due to some recent group restructuring. We have limited spots now available in the following two respite groups

- Children’s Group (Ages 8–13)
- Teenagers Group (Ages 14–17)
(Group placement is always based on the right fit and group synergy to ensure the best outcomes for everyone - as we believe this is vital to group success.)

Our respite weekends focus on:

✔️ Building confidence and independence
✔️ Positive behavioural outcomes (we are very experienced with participants who have behavioural needs)
✔️ Fun Farmstay experiences tailored to individual and group preferences

We also offer free pick-up and drop-off available across South-West Victoria.

We do also have very limited availability for 1:1 independent supports with two of our staff members
