🌟On Aged Care Employee Day, we’d like to express our sincere gratitude to Bundaleer’s dedicated team members for everything you do to enhance the wellbeing of residents who call our community home.🌟

We recently took part in Apollo Care’s very special initiative called 'Moments that Matter'. This initiative encouraged staff across our 14 not-for-profit communities to recognise and nominate the moments of kindness, compassion and teamwork that make a genuine difference to the lives of residents and their families, and their colleagues.

For Bundaleer, one such moment was when team member, Katrina, stepped in to cover a night shift after another team member called in sick. Although she was already in bed when she received the call, Katrina selflessly agreed to start a shift at midnight so she could be there for residents and her team.

Thank you, Katrina, for being such a treasured member of our community.

Our CEO, Stephen Becsi OAM, was excited to visit Bundaleer Aged Care Community yesterday where construction of a new 15-bed Memory Support Household is soon to commence. This $6.3 million project will help address a growing need for specialist dementia care in this region.

The new Household will incorporate domestic design principles to create familiar, welcoming spaces and senses of home. Residents living with advanced dementia will also have direct access to a landscaped outdoor courtyard with safe walking paths to support wellbeing.

This project is made possible with a $2.5 million capital grant contribution from The Department of Health & Aged Care, and Apollo Care’s investment of a further $3.8 million.

Another way Apollo Care is helping older Australians stay living in their home towns receiving the specialist care they need.
