Healthy relationships still involve disagreement, but how you argue matters.

To have the skills to move through conflict without losing sight of the connection underneath it is how you argue healthily.

This includes recognising when emotions are escalating, communicating needs clearly, listening with genuine curiosity and knowing how to repair after a difficult conversation.

Developing healthy communication takes practice, especially when old patterns are activated, but these skills can make difficult conversations safer, more productive and more respectful for both people.

Lachy Morrish is the kind of psychologist who makes you feel understood before you have even figured out how to explain what is going on. Grounded, warm and genuinely invested in the people he works with, Lachy believes that meaningful change begins with feeling heard. If you have been thinking about taking that first step, we would love to introduce you to Lachy. Visit psychologyoutcomes.com through our link in bio to learn more and find the right fit for you.

At Psychology Outcomes we can identify with reasonable accuracy at your second session whether you are on track to get better. And if you are not, we do not just keep doing the same thing. Our new Care Pathways model means you get access to additional support at no cost, a Sleep Group, a Yoga Group or a Mindfulness Group, up to six hours of extra care that would ordinarily cost $300 to $500, included because you came here to get better, not just to attend appointments. This model is built on published research in the field of early identification and intervention.

Research paper: Mahon, D., Minami, T., & Brown, J. (2025).

Do you find yourself doing everything for everyone, all the time?

Hyperindependence can develop as a way of coping when relying on others has felt difficult, unsafe or unfamiliar.

Over time, doing everything alone can become so automatic that asking for help feels uncomfortable, even when support would be beneficial.

Recognising this pattern can create an opportunity to develop more flexible coping strategies, strengthen emotional resilience, and become more comfortable with healthy interdependence.

Learning to receive support is self-care.

Finding the right psychologist should not be trial and error. Psychology Outcomes has been pioneering scientific matching in Australia since publishing research in InPsych in 2020, matching every client to a psychologist who is passionate about their specific challenge, has a data-driven track record of getting results with it, and is available within six weeks. You are always welcome to choose whoever feels right for you, but know that we are deliberate and evidence-based in who we recommend from the very beginning. Relationship anxiety is not just general worry about love. It is a specific and often overwhelming experience rooted in attachment, the deep-seated fear that the relationship is not as stable as you need it to be, that your partner might leave, that you are not as loved as you love them. It shows up as needing constant reassurance, needing to know where your partner is and a persistent underlying sense of insecurity that is hard to shake even in a healthy relationship. Understanding where this comes from is the first step to changing it. Visit psychologyoutcomes.com through our link in bio to find the right fit for you.

Grounding does not require a yoga mat, a mountain or a perfectly curated morning routine. It just requires a conscious shift away from the repetitive. A walk along Eastern Beach, sitting in your backyard with a coffee, tending to a plant, kicking a ball with your kids. Time outdoors increases serotonin and dopamine, regulates your circadian rhythm and genuinely impacts your mood, energy and emotional resilience. Even five minutes counts. Find what your version looks like and give yourself permission to do it regularly. Visit psychologyoutcomes.com through our link in bio to learn more.

Therapy does not have a set timeline and it does not need one. For some people it is three sessions. For others it is longer and that is completely fine. What matters is that you get what you need out of it. At Psychology Outcomes we will always be honest with you about where you are at and how long we think it will take, because your time and your progress both matter. Therapy is not just for crisis and you do not need a diagnosis to benefit from it. Starting a new job, ending a relationship, becoming a parent, moving somewhere new. These are exciting chapters and genuinely overwhelming ones and having support to navigate them is not a sign that something is wrong. It is a sign that you are taking the transition seriously. Therapy helps you adapt, find your footing and move into a new version of yourself with a little more clarity and a lot less friction.
