When exercise causes flare up, it can feel really confusing what to do. Rest more? Push through?
To explain the gap between when you feel pain and what your body is actually capable of doing, we use the twin peaks explanation

With persistent pain, pain can kick in much earlier than your body’s true physical limit. If we think of how pain is made in the brain as a protector, it can become overprotective- creating the pain response earlier than needed. If we could hike up a mountain, pain would kick in before you’ve even left the carpark.

That’s where exercise can help.

With gradual, well-dosed movement, we can build your body’s capacity AND help your nervous system feel safer with movement - and get further up the mountain.

The goal isn’t to push through pain. It’s to slowly build your capacity, confidence, pace and reduce your pain. Our team are experts in chronic complex pain, we’d love to help support you to stop hurting.

Welcome Emma! 🍐

You might recognise this beautiful face, Emma joins our practitioner team after 2 years as an admin angel.

Emma is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist who is passionate about helping women feel stronger, move with confidence, and enjoy all that life has to offer. She believes exercise has the power to improve both physical and mental wellbeing, empowering women to build confidence, enhance their health, and live life to the fullest.

Emma enjoys supporting women through every stage of life. Whether you’re just getting started with exercise, returning after injury, managing a chronic condition, or looking to improve your strength and overall wellbeing, she is committed to providing personalised, evidence-based care that meets you where you’re at. Emma strives to create a welcoming and supportive environment where clients feel heard, encouraged, and empowered to work towards their goals with confidence.

When she’s not in the clinic, you’ll likely find Emma training for her next triathlon, getting stuck into her latest book club read, or checking out a new coffee spot around Brisbane.

We are thrilled to have seen her grow into an incredible practitioner, and have her join us on the gym floor.
