There are more and more studies looking at saffron for mood support, anxiety and depression.

In practice, I’m using it more often for emotional balance, anxiety patterns, and ADHD presentations, especially where people want gentler, supportive options alongside lifestyle work.

Research suggests that at a specific dose and quality, saffron extract can show similar effects to standard antidepressant medications in some studies over an 8 to 12 week period, with a strong safety profile.

What matters most is not just the herb itself, but the dose, extract quality, and consistency over time.

I’ve also noticed shifts in mood and emotional steadiness when it’s used properly, both personally and in practice.

We do have a wider toolkit than most people realise when we’re working with trained, evidence informed practitioners.

Meet Eliza, one of our naturopaths, in her happy place inside the herbal dispensary formulating personalised sleep tonics for patients.

Sleep blends are never one-size-fits-all. They’re tailored using specific herbs based on what’s driving the issue, whether that’s stress, anxiety, high cortisol or low mood affecting rest.

Good sleep isn’t just about feeling rested. Ongoing disruption can affect hormones, mood, stress resilience and long term health.

If sleep is an issue for you right now, reach out or book a consultation so we can support you properly.

Comment “sleep” and we’ll send you details.

I was diagnosed with PMOS after meeting the criteria and doing an ultrasound that showed multiple follicles on my ovaries. Along with that came insulin resistance, weight issues, acne, excess hair growth, anxiety, and irregular cycles.

I was told quite early on that I might not be able to have children naturally and may need IVF in the future. That stayed with me more than anything else.

I was put on the pill not long after my first period, and later given Metformin to manage insulin and weight. For a long time, that was the main approach.

It wasn’t until my mid-teens that diet and exercise were even brought up. Until then, I didn’t really understand what was happening in my body or why.

Eventually, I started taking more control through lifestyle changes. Later I also worked with a naturopath before coming off the pill, and that transition came with a difficult adjustment period as my body found its rhythm again.

Over time, things became more manageable. My cycles regulated, I was able to conceive naturally, and I learned how to recognise and manage flare-ups in my own body.

What I went through is why I care so much about helping women understand what is actually driving their symptoms, not just treating what shows up on the surface.

For a lot of women, a diagnosis like PCOS doesn’t just describe symptoms. It shapes how they see their body for years after.

What often follows is confusion about what is actually going on, frustration when the symptoms don’t seem to make sense, and a feeling of being reduced to something as simple as “irregular periods” or “ovarian cysts” when the experience is clearly more complex than that.

The move from PCOS to PMOS reflects a shift in how the condition is understood. It points toward something more systemic involving metabolism, hormones, insulin regulation, inflammation, fertility, and mental wellbeing, rather than something limited to the ovaries alone.

That matters because the name of a condition influences how it is explained, how it is investigated, and how seriously the underlying drivers are taken in clinical settings.

A lot of women have spent years feeling like their symptoms did not fully fit the label they were given. A change like this is an attempt to bring that mismatch into focus and widen the lens of what is being looked at.

If you've been struggling with symptoms that don't seem to have clear answers, or you're looking for a more holistic understanding of your hormonal health, Sophie is here to help.

A lot of women spend years feeling disconnected from their body.

They’re told their symptoms are “normal,” given quick fixes, or left trying to piece everything together on their own while dealing with fatigue, hormone changes, fertility concerns, postpartum shifts, or cycles that just don’t feel right.

Sometimes what you really need is someone who takes the time to look deeper, explain things properly, and help you understand what your body has been trying to say all along.
That’s exactly the kind of care Sophie brings to her clients.

She’s currently available for consultations through the link in bio.

Some people live with symptoms for so long that they start accepting them as normal.

The bloating after every meal. The exhaustion that never fully goes away. The gut issues that keep flaring up. The feeling that something is off, even when tests come back “fine.”

Over time, it becomes frustrating trying different things without really understanding why your body keeps reacting the way it does.

This is where Eliza’s work focuses differently.

Her approach is about looking deeper into patterns, testing, and underlying drivers so clients can better understand what’s happening in their body instead of constantly chasing symptoms.

Eliza is currently available for consultations through the link in bio.

Come and find out how you can future proof your home form mould but also recover your body or figure out if mould is driving your symptoms.
