Brain Injury Awareness Week 2026 ๐ง ๐ | Many Pathways, One Community
This Brain Injury Awareness Week, Nawiri Care Services stands with people living with brain injury, their families, carers, support networks and communities.
Running from 17โ23 August 2026, this yearโs theme โ โBrain injury: many pathways, one communityโ โ reminds us that no two brain injuries are the same. Every personโs experience, recovery and support needs can look different.
Brain injury can happen at any stage of life and can result from many circumstances, including falls, road accidents, sports injuries, stroke, illness and other causes. Around 1 in 45 Australians live with a brain injury, making awareness, understanding and inclusive support more important than ever.
At Nawiri Care Services, we believe that every person deserves to be heard, respected and supported to live a meaningful, self-determined life.
๐ We listen to lived experience.
๐ We recognise individuality.
๐ We promote inclusion and independence.
๐ We work alongside individuals, families and support networks.
๐ Together, we help people thrive.
Brain injury awareness is more than understanding the condition โ it is about building communities where people feel seen, valued, connected and empowered.
This week, letโs start conversations, challenge misconceptions and make space for the voices and experiences of people living with brain injury.
Many pathways. One community. Together We Thrive. ๐
