Rest is often seen as something we need to earn, After the work is done, After everything is checked off, After we’ve proven we’ve done “enough.” But. ...how do we know when we have done "enough"?
What if rest wasn’t a reward? What if rest was a foundation?

Signs Your Body Is Asking You to Slow Down This Season.....

There are moments when your body begins to whisper… before it begins to shout.
you may feel a little more tired than usual.
have a shorter capacity for noise or conversation.
maybe even a quiet resistance to rushing.
These aren’t flaws to fix, they’re signals to listen to.
As we move into winter, your system naturally begins to soften. It asks for more rest, more warmth, more space.
But when we’ve been taught to keep pushing, it can feel uncomfortable to honour that.
So today, instead of overriding what you feel… try noticing it.
What is your body gently asking for right now?
Less pressure ? More stillness ? A slower pace?

Give Yourself Permission to Rest

You don’t need to earn your rest.
Not by being productive enough.
Not by getting everything done.
Not by proving that you’ve worked hard enough to deserve it.
Rest is not a reward.
It’s a basic human need.
Your body doesn’t function well without it.
Your nervous system can’t regulate without it.
And your mind can’t feel clear without it.
So if you’re feeling tired…
If you’re feeling stretched…
If you’re feeling like you need to pause…
Let that be enough of a reason.
You are allowed to rest—exactly as you are.

Lately, I’ve been noticing the subtle shift that this season brings.
A slower pace.
A quieter energy.
A gentle pull inward.
And with that… a reminder of how easy it is to resist slowing down.
To keep going.
To keep doing.
To override what the body is asking for.
But this time of year isn’t asking us to push—it’s inviting us to soften.
To listen a little more closely.
To rest before we reach exhaustion.
To care for ourselves in a deeper, more intentional way.
If you’ve been feeling a little more tired, a little more inward, or in need of space… you’re not alone.
Maybe your body isn’t falling behind.
Maybe it’s guiding you back to balance.

May Blog - Self- Care V's True Nourishment

We hear the words self-care everywhere. People tell you, Take a bath. Light a candle. Book a massage. Have a night off, while these things can absolutely be supportive, many people are still left feeling depleted, overwhelmed, or disconnected. Self-care is so much more than these suggestions which at the least to many sound indulgent, and almost stressful… because where are you going to find the time??
So… let’s look at a very important question:
Is self-care always the same as true nourishment? The answer is… not quite.
What’s The Difference Between Self-Care and Nourishment ?
Self-care, as it’s often presented, can sometimes sit on the surface. It’s the things we do to try and feel better. And at times, it can even become another task on the to-do list—something we feel we should be doing.
True nourishment, on the other hand, goes deeper. It’s not about ticking a box.
It’s about listening. Listening to your body. Listening to your energy. Listening to what you actually need—not what you think you’re supposed to need.
Because what nourishes you will change from day to day, season to season, and moment to moment.
