I recently met with Phu Nguyen, CEO and Mayor Diana Grima from Hobsons Bay City Council to discuss their priorities for the next few years.

There’s many projects in the area that cannot go ahead without a financial contribution from State or Federal Government.

I will be happy to advocate for these projects, and am interested in hearing from you what you would like to see before I share them.

I’d love to know what the priorities of the locals are.

This is misguided. What is needed is a doubling of Werribee Mercy Hospital. The land is already there. It makes no sense having 2 public hospitals In Wyndham with all the doubling of admin staff, support staff , kitchen, etc etc.

RE: Statement on Data Centres

Yesterday a statement was released from Melissa Horne on her advocacy on data centres. It must be asked, what has taken so long, and what should people believe?

We have a sitting member who also sits in Cabinet, someone who should have the power to make change. Someone who has to date done nothing to stop the encroachment of data centres in her electorate. Someone who has chosen time and again to side with her government over the community that elected her.

The Development Facilitation Program (DFP) has been developed to allow for data centres to be built without proper planning and community consultation. This government has been complicit, not once attempting to halt these data centres even amongst serious community pushback. When communities rally together, they need their elected MP to work with them, not against them.

Let’s not pretend that the Federal Government is going to provide a one-size-fits-all solution. The DFP that has allowed these data centres to pop up without any community feedback is the brainchild of this state government. This isn’t a federal issue. This is the result of Victorian Labor getting lazy and cozying up to Big Tech.

Melissa Horne has shown through the Champion Road level crossing removal that she is unable to fight for her community. She is more adept at hand-balling responsibility to others and pretending to advocate for her community whilst being utterly subservient to her party.

This is more PR spin. Instead of tackling issues head on, Vic Labor is solely focused on passing the buck onto the Federal Government. We cannot allow our sitting member, a member of cabinet, to keep dodging accountability.

We’ve seen her failure on Champion Road. We can’t allow failure on data centres. I will fight for this community. I won’t handball responsibility. If you want a MP that is going to try their hardest and listen to the community, Be Heard, Vote West.

This is a disgrace. The Auditor General has revealed today that the government has had a secret 1% tax on all public transport fares since January 2025 to raise money to build the underground train from Box Hill to Cheltenham. Westies are getting ripped off. This vanity tunnel has to be stopped and money redirected to where it is needed - transport in the west, health esp mental health, and safety.
