There was plenty of friendly competition at Capecare Busselton this week as residents tried out our new carpet bowls set, generously donated by the Busselton Men’s Shed. 🎳

The new carpet and bowls were an immediate hit, with residents having an absolute ball giving the game a go.

A big thank you to the Busselton Men's Shed for such a thoughtful donation. Carpet bowls will now become a regular fixture on our lifestyle activity calendar.

Capecare is looking for experienced, local Housekeeping Attendants and Catering Assistants to join our Hospitality Services team in our residential care homes in Busselton and Dunsborough.

Catering Assistants required across both Dunsborough and Busselton facilities: Monday to Friday, 4- 7 pm, $31 per hour.

Housekeeping Attendants required across both Dunsborough and Busselton facilities: Monday to Friday, 6:30 am – 11:30 am & 6:30 am- 1:30 pm, $31 per hour.

Permanent and casual roles are available immediately.

Our Busselton residents enjoyed a morning in the garden last Thursday with a little help from the team at Bunnings Warehouse Australia.

Bunnings generously supplied and installed new planter boxes, ready for residents to fill with a mix of herbs, vegetables and fruit. There was plenty of planting, chatting and sharing of gardening tips along the way!

The new garden gives residents something they can continue to enjoy and care for, from watering and tending the plants to eventually harvesting some of the produce for our kitchen.
A big thank you to Debbie for coordinating the project, and to the Bunnings team for giving their time and helping us get the garden established.

We’re looking forward to seeing what grows! 🌱

What a wonderful night we had celebrating our people! 💙

Our Capecare teams came together on Friday night for our annual Winter Warmer, with one of the highlights being the announcement of Cindy Brovadan as our 2026 Capecare Way Champion! 🏆

Hospitality Worker Cindy was recognised for the kindness, genuine care and reliability she brings to her work every day, and for the many quiet ways she goes above and beyond for residents and colleagues.

Congratulations also to our other wonderful Capecare Way Champion nominees Roy Kim, Sharon Taylor and Clare Simcock.

We celebrated some impressive service milestones, including Christine Hope and Karen Moylan reaching an incredible 20 years with Capecare, along with team members celebrating 15, 10 and five years of service.

And congratulations to our nine graduating trainees, who were recognised for completing their traineeships and taking another important step in their Capecare careers.

Today is Aged Care Employee Day – an opportunity to say a very big thank you to the wonderful people who make aged care possible every day. 💙

Across Capecare, our team members bring care, compassion, skill and commitment to their work in so many different ways – supporting residents and clients, preparing meals, creating activities, maintaining homes, coordinating care, keeping everything running behind the scenes and, most importantly, making a difference in the lives of older people and their families.

It’s particularly fitting that tonight we’ll come together for our annual Capecare Winter Warmer staff celebration, where we’ll recognise some of the people who exemplify The Capecare Way and celebrate team members reaching significant service milestones with Capecare.

To every member of our team in Busselton, Dunsborough and out in our community – thank you for everything you do.

Our much-loved Capecare Dunsborough resident Hubert received a special visit yesterday for his 105th birthday. Not the King, but definitely local royalty! Thanks Libby for making his day even more special.

Hubert was a Capecare Community home care client while living with his daughter until moving into our Dunsborough residential care this year. We love to be able to continue caring for our clients as their needs change.
