What is RSV?
Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is a very common virus that affects the airways and lungs. While it often causes mild, cold-like symptoms, it can be serious for babies, older adults and people with weakened immune systems.

🔵It spreads easily through coughs, sneezes, and close contact
🟣Symptoms can imclude runny nose, cough, fever, wheezing, and difficulty breathing.
🔵In older adults and infants, RSV can lead to severe infections like bronchiolitis or pneumonia.
🟣RSV is the leading cause of hospitalisation in young children and can also be serious in the elderly.

Vaccination during pregnancy helps protect your baby in their first months of life, while vaccination for older adults reduces the risk of severe illness and hospitalisation.
