Lawson Clinical Psychology Improving lives through excellence in psychological healthcare in West Perth and Claremont

Based in two central Perth locations, Lawson Clinical Psychology offers a wide range of services, which allows our clients to choose from 26 qualified and experienced clinical psychologists, supported by six administration team members. All of our clinical psychologists have a minimum of six years training, in addition to hospital and outpatient workplace experience, where they have had exposure t

reating a range of psychological difficulties. We strive to provide a warm and welcoming environment at our clinic and we aim to build inclusive and positive relationships with our clients, our team and our community. We have clinics conveniently located in character properties in the suburbs of West Perth and Claremont. We have carefully selected the decor and furnishings within our clinics to create a relaxing, welcoming and homely atmosphere. We value clinical excellence and our goal is to provide the highest quality care to our clients. This, together with our commitment to excellence within our approach to the training and supervision we provide to other health professionals and our team, is what sets us apart from other practices. Our approach is client-focussed as we see the value in understanding our client's unique and individual needs, as this enables us to help them develop their goals – and just as importantly, design a plan to achieve them.

Today marks International Fathers Mental Health Day, a day to recognise the vital role fathers play in their families and communities.

Fatherhood can be rewarding, challenging, and everything in between. Yet the pressures that come with it are often overlooked.

At LCP, we believe every father deserves support, understanding, and the opportunity to prioritise their mental wellbeing. By creating space for honest conversations and encouraging dads to check in, reach out, and seek support when needed, we can remind fathers that they don't have to navigate life's challenges alone. 💙

Men’s Health Week

This Men’s Health Week, we’re reminding men that mental health is something to care for every day — not just when things feel overwhelming.

Whether it’s taking time to recharge, staying connected with others, moving your body, or checking in with how you’re really feeling, small steps can make a meaningful difference.

Asking for support is a strength, not a weakness.

Overthinking everything? You're not alone.

Whether it's getting caught up in worries about the future or replaying events from the past, overthinking can keep us stuck in patterns that are difficult to break 🌀.

Our latest blog explores why this happens and shares a technique that can help create some distance from unhelpful thoughts 💭.

Global Day of Parents

Yesterday was the Global Day of Parents. On this day we recognise the love, strength, and care that parents and primary caregivers give every day. Parenting can be both meaningful and challenging — support and awareness matters.

At Lawson Clinical Psychology, we acknowledge and support the mental health and wellbeing of all parents and primary caregivers.

Today, on National Sorry Day, we acknowledge the strength, resilience and enduring cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We remember and reflect on the Stolen Generations, and acknowledge the lasting impact this history continues to have on individuals, families, and communities.

National Sorry Day is an opportunity to listen, learn, and walk together in the spirit of healing, respect, and reconciliation.
