Sweat pits have always belonged here in Australia. They are another important part of my PhD research.
Too often, we look beyond Australia to explain traditions that have always existed on this continent. In doing so, we risk overlooking the depth of knowledge held by our own First Nations peoples.
Aboriginal heat pits, or sweat pits, are not imitations of practices from elsewhere. They are ancient healing technologies in their own right, developed through Country and passed down across generations. Like other heat-based healing traditions around the world, they use earth, fire, water, steam, and ceremony to support healing of the body, mind, and spirit.
Our knowledge has always been here. It deserves to be recognised, respected, and understood on its own terms.

Today I gave myself the gift of slowing down, breathing deeply, and simply being... and I couldn't be more grateful.
A heartfelt thank you to Christine Waves of Healing for such an incredibly peaceful and relaxing Energy Enhancement System session.
From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed into a calm, nurturing space where I could completely switch off from the outside world.
The comfortable surroundings, soothing atmosphere, warm blanket and time to simply rest left me feeling lighter, calmer, and deeply refreshed. Finishing the session with a beautiful cup of tea was the perfect touch—it gave me a moment to reflect, reconnect, and appreciate just how important it is to make time for self-care.
Sometimes the greatest healing comes from allowing ourselves permission to pause.

Over the years, I have always tried to keep my massage prices as affordable as possible. Even as the cost of products, utilities, insurance, rent and business expenses continued to rise, I chose not to increase my prices because I wanted holistic care to remain accessible to our community.
Unfortunately, there comes a time when those increasing costs can no longer be absorbed, and from now on there will be a small price increase for massage treatments.
This decision has not been made lightly. Earth Elemental Massage is a business built with love, care and a genuine passion for supporting the health and wellbeing of others. I am so incredibly grateful for every person who has trusted me on their healing journey.
To help support both my clients and my small business, I will be offering $10 off any treatment when paying with cash.
