You are not alone.
Birth is a profound threshold.
While it can bring immense joy, it can also bring unexpected challenges, physical injuries, and deep emotional distress.
This Birth Trauma Awareness Week, we want to gently remind every mother, partner, and family member carrying the heavy weight of a difficult birth experience: What you are feeling is valid. Trauma isn't just about what happened; it’s about how it made you feel.
If your birth story involved fear, a lack of control, unexpected interventions, or physical pain that still lingers, please know that you did nothing wrong. Healing is not linear, and there is no timeline for grief or recovery. You do not have to carry this silence by yourself.
Standard medical care looks after the body, but your heart and mind deserve that same gentle care.
Whether you gave birth last week or a decade ago, your story matters.
If you are struggling with difficult memories, anxiety, or feeling disconnected, please reach out. Safe, compassionate support is available.
We see you. We believe you. We are here with you.
