June is National Scoliosis Awareness Month
This month highlights the importance of scoliosis awareness, education, and early detection. Early intervention and appropriate support can make a significant difference in long-term spinal health and quality of life.
Signs that may help detect scoliosis early include:
• Uneven shoulders
• One hip sitting higher than the other
• One shoulder blade appearing more prominent
• Rib cage asymmetry or rib “hump” when bending forward
• Clothing sitting unevenly on the body
• A visible curve or shift through the spine
• Ongoing postural imbalance or leaning to one side
