I will be at Bendigo for the National Show & will have info on our animals for sale. Please feel free to approach me with any questions. I am not exhibiting but I will be doing some volunteer ring steward work on Friday & less on Saturday when I should be ‘floating about’ 😁 For those who do not know me, a pic is attached 😂🤦‍♀️

Some of you might remember this girl, Arcady Glow, previously offered a a non-breeding female …well, I decided to give her one more try because she was exhibiting highly receptive behaviour while other matings were happening. And, Bingo ! 🥳🥳 She is now pregnant & confirmed by a very clear vet ultrasound.
Glow shows brown yet is becoming increasingly roan, as would be expected with her very grey genetics, plus being full sister to the beautiful Arcady Purple Rain. She is pregnant to the well-bred Arcady MDB Wizard, himself a solid fawn roan, with a ton of great grey genetics too.
Glow is on our ‘list’ now as a pregnant young lady.

Sadly, Elvis has left the building… 😞Taken on as a bottlefed at 7 days old, due to his appalling mother, he thrived for several weeks before the rollercoaster ride began. Stressful is a word that does not cover it. Despite being on Carafate, he eventually developed gastric ulcer/s, and suddenly went down with peritonitis from a perforation and had to be euthanised. No wonder I am ready to retire ! I have used up all my reserves of emotional strength in the past 2 years !
I miss my chair-side buddy 🥺

Well, our last autumn cria has been born so it is now time to get serious about Stage ONE of RETIREMENT ! Reducing workload & births for 2027 is the goal. A good number of proven breeding females (many with cria at foot) will be needing new homes, and we still have a few young adult wethers available.

Sometimes it is worth the wait. La Nouba has made this enormous female cria for us. We had planned to retire her from breeding & are delighted to have this final girl. Not yet weighed but we are guessing over 12kgs…up on her feet in under 10mins, suckling under 30mins. Cannot complain about that ! Arcady La Bella 🥰
PS La Nouba is a verylarge alpaca, just to give you some size scale

UPDATE : turns out our weight guesstimate was a bit ‘hot’…Bella ‘only’ weighed in at 11.1 kgs this morning (17th) 😂
