Today I’m onsite with family and dearest friend, planning next week’s Celebration of Life. Every detail is thoughtfully considered to honour the loved one.

I’m honoured and in awe of the incredible contribution over a long period of time Mel gave to the cultural life and community of women for our region.

Mel loved gerberas. I looked up the symbolism - cheerfulness, strength.

And this bright open bloom with a little heart in the centre is perfect for her. Although red would have been better to match her flame red hair.

Those moments pre wedding ceremony with the partner. Once the groom catches their first glimpse of their partner walking towards them, to music that is special to them, all nerves slip away, and the look that says “there you are”.

It’s a special moment to share, a real privilege and one held with care.

The saddest thing I’ve heard at a wedding didn’t come from the couple, but from a guest. I like to say this is the first time this had happened, but sadly not.

Creating a wedding ceremony is a creative and fun part of planning the ceremony. It’s probably the part we haven’t thought about yet.

For years I couldn’t explain what happened to the music at this wedding ceremony. Then my late mother revealed she was responsible changing the wedding music.

This story made me laugh, then I cried, knowing my deceased mother is still around. Sharing the weddings with me, her opinions of course, and her love of celebration🪩 💃

Whether you believe in signs from loved ones and such abilities, I think many of us like to believe that the people we have lost still find ways to be part of our life’s big moments.

Huge thanks to , psychic or spirit artist, 3 pages of notes and a portrait. You handled my mum brilliantly & for an hour too💛📿
