Dr Matthew Starr performed a thigh lift for this patient in her early 40s who presented with excess skin and soft tissue following a >60kg weight loss. This patient also had a preexisting tendency to carry excess weight on her thighs. Following her large weight loss, the resultant excess skin contributed to discomfort, affected clothing fit, and adversely impacted on this patient’s day-to-day activities.
During the consultation process, Dr Starr completed a comprehensive assessment, discussed her concerns and treatment goals, reviewed the potential benefits, risks and limitations of surgery, and developed an individualised surgical plan tailored to her anatomy and circumstances.
At the time of surgery, 770g of excess skin and subcutaneous tissue (fat) was carefully removed from the inner thighs to address this patient’s symptoms and concerns. A further 1.5 Litres of fat was removed via liposuction to reduce the size and weight of her thighs. The incisions on the inner thigh were then closed with dissolving stitches placed underneath the skin.
Recovery is an important part of the surgical journey. Regular follow-up appointments allow healing to be monitored, questions to be addressed, and guidance to be provided as patients progressively return to their normal activities.
The photos are taken before and 8 weeks post surgery.
If you are considering a thigh lift, a referral from your GP or Specialist is required.
