Considering cosmetic surgery? These are the questions we hear most.

✨ Yes, you need a GP referral before your first consultation. You will have at least two consultations, giving you time to discuss your goals, ask questions, and consider your options.

✨ At your consultation, Dr Knight listens to what you are hoping to achieve, discusses your concerns, and carries out a thorough assessment before explaining what is realistic for you.

✨ No, you cannot book surgery straight away. Cooling-off periods apply after consent, giving you time to reflect before anything is booked.

✨ And if you are not ready to decide? That is okay. A consultation is about understanding your options, not making a decision on the spot.

Before any cosmetic surgery can be booked, there are a few important steps.

Dr Robert Knight is a FRACS-accredited specialist plastic surgeon, with over 20 years of surgical training across South Africa, the UK, Italy, France, Sweden, and the US.

He is Director of Training for Plastic Surgery Registrars at Wollongong Public Hospital, a conjoint lecturer at the University of Wollongong, and a member and advisor to organisations supporting transgender and gender-diverse healthcare.

And now, a little reintroduction to ISPA Clinic. 🙌🏻

It’s been a while since we shared our story, so we thought it was time to reintroduce the practice and what we’re here to offer.

ISPA Clinic provides specialist plastic and aesthetic surgery care in the heart of Wollongong, with consultations and surgery all local, close to home and family.

Led by Dr Robert Knight, a FRACS-accredited Specialist Plastic Surgeon, ISPA brings more than 20 years of specialist training and experience to the local community.

And under the same roof, you’ll also find Integrativ Aesthetics, our skin clinic led by Kristin, a registered cosmetic nurse.

Whether you’re considering surgery or simply looking after your skin, having both services under one roof means your care can feel connected, considered and personal.

It's been a while since we shared something new, so it feels like the right moment to properly introduce the man behind ISPA Clinic. 🙌🏻

Dr Robert Knight is a Specialist Plastic Surgeon and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS). His training spans more than 20 years and four continents, starting at Baragwanath Hospital in South Africa and continuing through the UK, Scotland, Italy, France and Sweden, where he became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

He completed specialist training in Western Australia and further fellowships in Brisbane, Sydney and the United States, working alongside colleagues from Harvard, Princeton, Stanford and Washington universities. He also spent five years in lab based research on umbilical cord blood stem cells at the Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney.

Today, Dr Knight brings that depth of training to general plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, with super specialty qualifications in craniomaxillofacial and paediatric surgery.

I’ve been asked a lot about this paper lately by many of our patients, so here it is! In summary - Vit B3 was shown to reduce SCCs and BCCs by 23% in patients with known disease and reduced pre- cancerous lesions in 13%. A supplement may help but there is never a better preventative than a great balanced diet with enough natural Vit B3 and being sun smart!
